There are ten different gardens beautifully laid out for a pleasant stroll. My favorite was the orchids because many were in bloom. though there was something blooming in every garden. there is also a section with plants for sale at reasonable prices. If i lived there that’s there i would buy my plants. Inside there is a lively gift shop too. The best part is it’s free and run solely by donations and by volunteers. There is a jar at the front to donate but no pressure to do so. There is also a scavenger hunt for children.See more..

Spruce Bluff was settled by pioneers in the 1890s. A big freeze in 1895 wiped out the crops and the settlers abandoned the area. The preserve has the grave of some of the settlers, some short hiking trails and even an Ais Indian mound that dates back some 2000 years. It's at the back of a neighborhood in Port St. Lucie and nobody really knows it's there. Great for hiking and biking. Family-friendly—certainly no hills!
