    The Guernsey Tapestry image
The Guernsey Tapestry is a fantastic way to understand the complex history of the islands. Ten panels (all stitched by locals to celebrate the Millenium) beautifully explain the events of each century. An easy to use and understand audio guide adds to the experience (available in English, French and German). A quote from the visitors book 'This was a wonderful way of telling history - I've never seen anything quite like it - don't miss it!' See more..

Town Church St Peter Port image
We caught the Condor ferry from Poole in Dorset and arrived at St. Peter Port at 12.15. On arrival we had a leisurely walk into the town and found a Costa café. The whole of the town was filled with professional musicians of every genre. The scenery was magnificent. We’ve waited many years to visit the Channel Islands. We’ve not been disappointed. The parish church was a lovely place to visit. See more..

    Jerbourg Point image
The views are stunning, but would highly recommend that you visit at dusk to see the moon rising. When we did, it was a red hue and absolutely jaw-dropingly beautiful, one of the most amazing views I have seen. Not sure if it is like that all year round, but if you do get to see it you will be mesmerised. See more..

    Pleinmont Observation Tower image
The Channel Islands have many fine examples of the Atlantic Wall. These towers and the gun emplacement are excellent additions to any visit. Didn’t manage to visit when open but got a great walk around and out to tower MP4 half a kilometre away. If you have time, explore the gun emplacement and supporting bunkers and tunnels, very extensive. Need to come back to complete other sites. See more..

  10. 4.5 Petit Bot Bay Beach (116 reviews)
    - Lovely bay on a sunny day nestled between the cliffs
    Beaches
    Petit Bot Bay Beach image
Situated on the south of the island Petit Bot is a lovely sheltered bay with a wide expanse of sand at low tide with rocks to explore and swim to. Kayaks and paddle boards are available to hire but most families with children just enjoy the sand or go for a swim. Car parking close to the beach is a challenge but there is roadside parking on the upward side road out of the bay. There is a coastal path either side of the bay too to enjoy a little walk on. Depending on which way the wind is blowing then the beach is very sheltered from the elements. Great spot to soak up some rays. See more..
  11. 4.5 Cobo Bay (100 reviews)
    - Large expanse of sand.
    Beaches
    Cobo Bay image
Cannot comment on the swimming, but for walking this is a great bay with a large expanse of sand. There is a car park at the northern end or the circular No 41 and 92 busses run the length of it. The mid section has some amenities such as a small supermarket and fish and chip shop as well as a restaurant pub and hotel, but booking is essential if you want to eat in these during the tourist months. My only complaint was that it was lacking in really good stones to play skimmers, but that’s about it on the negatives front. See more..
  12. 4.5 Fermain Bay (69 reviews)
    - The walk from St Peter Port will get the heart racing.
    Bodies of Water
    Fermain Bay image
Fermain Bay is a picturesque inlet which doesn’t get too crowded as it cannot really be reached by car and the walking routes here are not the easiest. We walked the coastal path from St Peter Port and as others have said it is challenging in places with steep inclines and steep declines so probably not recommended for those with mobility issues. When you get there, there’s a nice cafe with plenty of outside tables giving a good sea view and attached toilet facilities. There is also the Fermain Tower, one of the Napoleonic defences that is now holiday accommodation owned and run by the National Trust. There are quite a few pebbles on the beach but areas of sand also and it’s a safe spot to swim. You can also reach it by Fermain Lane from Fort Road but again it’s a steep decline down in places, which then means a steep incline to get back to the main road. This route does take you past the Fermain Valley Hotel, so you could always break the climb up with a coffee here. See more..
  13. 4.5 Moulin Huet Bay (62 reviews)
    - Fabulous coastal walk
Spent 2-3 hours Bodies of Water • Nature & Wildlife Areas

  15. 4.5 Victoria Tower (39 reviews)
    - Good views from the top.
Points of Interest & Landmarks • Monuments & Statues
    Victoria Tower image
Lots of steps up a spiral staircase but the reward of some fine views back over St Peter Port when you make it to the viewing gallery. Key is obtained from the ticket desk in the Guernsey museum after signing the lengthy rules sheet. If you want to add a sense of adventure to your climb you could always do it in the dark as we did as, despite “please make sure you turn off the light switch “ is one of the many rules, we completely missed the switch to the right of the staircase. See more..
  16. 4.5 Grandes Rocques Beach (15 reviews)
    - Beautiful beach
    Beaches
    Grandes Rocques Beach image
Watched the sun set over the beach. Just lovely. A few people walking their dogs across the beach who were having a great time running across the sand. Beautiful skies as the sun went down, just glorious. Good facilities too, easy to park, and a series of places to eat and drink, but nicely spread so - like most of the island - nothing felt busy or crowded. See more..
  17. 4.0 La Vallette Underground Military Museum (593 reviews)
    - VERY GOOD MILITARY AND OCCUPATION MUSEUM
Monday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Military Museums
La Vallette Underground Military Museum image
I was really impressed with this underground museum which is housed in tunnels built by the Germans during WW2. There is a very interesting collection of militaria together with a lot of exhibits and information about the Occupation and the hardship suffered by the islanders during the war. We did not visit any other military museums on Guernsey but this one is reasonably priced and only a short walk from the town centre. See more..

****Highly recommended to visit*** Very nice experience, we were welcomed by a friendly and informative guide who was passionate about the part of Guernsey history this museum covers. The museum itself is concise, very well organised and offered key info and items of various shipwrecks. Your effort to preserve and beautifully display Guernsey's history is much appreciated.
