Visited Alderney on a 2 day golfing trip May 2021 with 20 friends and we used John at Alderney Tours to move us around the Island from the Airport to the Golf Course to the hotel to Restaurants etc. It was literally like having our own personal Chauffer with John for the whole 2 days. Nothing was too much trouble. Even last minute changes to flights, people leaving belongings behind John was on the end of the phone for us the whole time we where there to make sure we could enjoy the Golf and not worry about logistics. The trip ran like clockwork and it was all down to John being so accommodating, This is the second time we have used Alderney Tours for our Golf trip and wouldn't use anyone else. Thanks from us all John for making the weekend such a memorable experience. Keep up the good work and see you in a few months when we're back in Alderney. All the best, Clive and the Guernsey boys. An amazing evening spent on the beach in mid April. Nobody around. The tide was half out and we walked alone across the white sand. Quiet, secluded and breathless sunset. Well worth a visit when on island and it is timeless. Do come and sea. See more..

    - Beautiful boat tour around Alderney, with a very knowledgeble guide

Alderney Wildlife Trust - Seabirds Boat Trip image
We had a wonderful time on the boat around the island. It was a beautiful calm day as we were taken on an hour and a half tour of Alderney. The guide was brilliant and informative about all the features around us, from the natural environment to the WWII bunkers. It was amazing to see all the gannets on their nesting ground, as well as the forts from the perspective of the sea - and all those gun turrets facing us. The boat can have about 12 people on it, and we could all sit down. Please make sure that if you have accessibility problems that you let them know. There was a older person on the boat, and they made lots of effort to ensure he was able to get on safely without stairs. The rest of us were able to go down the stairs. See more..

Hire an e-bike on Alderney! What a fabulous way to explore Alderney. I'd never ridden an e-bike before, but very quickly got the hang of things with a few minutes comprehensive introduction by Andy. We booked the bikes first thing in the morning, and they were all ready for us when we arrived an hour or so later. This is a family business, and everyone was very friendly and helpful. The bikes were all in good condition, with all the kit one needed for a great day out, including maps with suggested routes, saddle bag and lock. I had thought e bikes would be very expensive to hire, but pricing us very reasonable. Everything to like about this place! See more..
  5. 5.0 Alderney Coastal Path (23 reviews)
    - Wonderful round Ireland experience
Spent More than 3 hours Scenic Walking Areas
    Alderney Coastal Path image
A very well signed walk round the island. Around about 18 to 19 km. A path with a mixture of gravel, grass and tarmac. Really well laid out with signpost as well as waymarks. It gives some of the best views of the island especially on the east west and south sides. Plenty of stopping places for sitting down on benches looking at views like the gannets, the forts, the beaches had to stop off at the campsite for ice cream or sandwiches or even pizza. Highly recommend it as a way to see the island how to get to know all the places that you would want to go back to your second visit. Well worth a go. See more..

    - Fantastic round island boat trip with Dave.

    Avante Boat Trips image
We visited Alderney for 5 nights earlier in May staying in the Braye Beach Hotel. During the stay apart from some lovely coastal walks around the island we had a fantastic boat trip on Avante skippered by Dave. It was a complete round island trip and we saw lots of puffins and gannets which were roosting in the small islands off of Alderney. Dave skilfully navigated the various tidal channels surrounding the island and shared his extensive knowledge of the sea birds and the history of the various defensive forts and bunkers dotted around the coastline. In summary, a safe and very enjoyable trip and one I would strongly recommend to others visiting this lovely island. See more..
  7. 5.0 Alderney Wildlife Trust - Activities (1 review)
    - See-birds and much more - a must do boat trip around the island
Sightseeing Tours • Nature & Wildlife Tours • Kayaking & Canoeing
A great Wildlife and Heritage boat trip with the Alderney Wildlife Trust to experience the island's seabirds and ecology. The gannets were a joy to see roosting, 'dancing', flying and diving around us. Jack was an excellent guide and shared his knowledge of the variety of seabirds, the challenges and successes of conservation work on the island along with the geology and history of the fortifications that could be seen on the coastline from the boat. Great for all ages and highly recommended. See more..

    Alderney Museum image
The museum collection on display reveals an island community changing over the years to both external and internal pressures. Alderney has a fascinating history starting with extensive Stone, Bronze and Iron Age activity, with evidence of historically important Roman activity at Longy. The Victorian era brought huge change to Alderney and the landscape is still dominated by Queen Victoria's interest in the island as a defence harbour from the French. Most recently the Second World War had an extreme effect on Alderney when all but a few of the island's inhabitants were evacuated and the island occupied by German forces for the duration of the war. - Viewed from Afar

    The Cambridge Battery image
This is part of Hitlers fortifications which are very prominent in the Channel Islands, we have visited most of them but this one was to far with no Public Transport to it particullaly being disabled. We did view it from a distance but this is not the same as a visit. It is very difficult for tourists to visit attration such as this and others on the island, for those who want bikes these are available in the town which is up a very steep hill. Alderney needs small buses to make these attractions and the remainded of the island more accessible for Tourists. See more..
