The Burunguz Mosque is the newer one dating back to Ottoman era, while the older one (and smaller) Ulu Mosque from Seljuk period is back by the bazaar.    If you are somewhere around Cappadocia you have to see Kapuzbaşı Waterfalls as well. It is a day tour by renting a car. Firstly, you have to reach Yahyalı town almost 90 kms from Kayseri. Then, follow the signs on the road to falls adding 50 kms and it takes 1,5 hours to arrive the national park. Falls bubbles out of the bedrocks. While the volume of the springs does increase during the snow melt season, the falls flow consistently all year thanks to their underground source. The scenery, forest climate and the authentic Kapuzbaşı village with simple family run restaurants will make you more than happy! See more..

    Soganli is a peaceful little village set on a hillside in the Saganli valley. Few and mainly old people live there now as the young have moved out. A beautiful rock cut church lies a short walk away with black frescoes mostly undisturbed by defacement. From there is a great view of the valley and if the sun is shining, it beams off the rock pinnacle on the other side of the valley. At the entrance to the village sit old women who make the famous traditional Saganli dolls. They will show you how they make them as well as sell you some - they are well worth it for presents and help support the old people of the village.     This is a very good and informing museum in the very center of Kayseri, right inside a beautiful park. The museum is about the Seljuks, which occupied large territories in Asia from early medieval times, focusing on their origins, history and culture.     It was a great visit to Mimar Sinan house, there should be more info about the history. When you visit there find Mustafa Bey, he really helped us to know more about the history of that area.
