- 5.0 Sultan II. Beyazit Mosque & Theological College (172 reviews)
-A Must See In Amasya
Religious Sites
Such a calming and positive atmosphere... As soon as you walk in to a big garden you feel calmness and relaxation. You see beautiful structure of the past. Little crafts in the fountain which is right behind the gorgeous tree from hundreds of years ago... Inside the mosque is big and welcoming, quite colder than the outside, well kept and tidy. You see the detailed Islamic structure everywhere. It's been 6 months since I last saw but I still feel and see everything. See more..

Sono stato poco fa a visitare questa bella ed elegante moschea che si trova alla periferia occidentale della città non lontana dal fiume. Anche se non è molto centrale, la moschea vale la lunga passeggiata che bisogna affrontare per raggiungerla. See more..

- 4.5 Amasya Castle (195 reviews)
-Lovely city
Castles
I did not visit the castle actually. Here I would like to write about Amasya city it self which consist of the castle. This city is very friendly and relax. The atmosphere of the city is very hospitalise, it has it's own way to welcome people. I immediately fall in love with Amasya since the 1 at day I came. Walk a long the river at night, enjoy to see the people around and enjoy the view of the river and the ottoman houses above the river, and look at the reflection of the lights from the houses in the river, very lovely. It's a must visit city in turkey. Not very well known. And better keep it this way. See more..

- 4.5 Amaasya Museum of Archeology (154 reviews)
-A Must See, Especially for the Ilkhanate Mummies
Speciality Museums
This small yet compact museum is a must see when in Amasya. It's very well organized, equipped with very adequate explanations both in Turkish and English. The displays are well planned. The museum card is valid here too. Though the most popular exhibits are the mummies from the Ilkhanate period (mummification is a rare practice in this geography), the rest of the collection is not less interesting: from fossiles to hundreds of years old manuscripts along with archeological findings dating back to 1600 BC, they are all very impressive. You should not limit your visit to the museum building: the gardens are also hosting many exhibits among them a very rare Ottoman sundial dating back 15th century. This museum was one of the highlights of our Amasya trip. I wholeheartedly recommend to allocate around 2 hours to visit it. See more..

-Sweaty hike to the top
Ancient Ruins
But the views are unbeatable. Great photos. Well worth the hike. The tombs, which are accessed from down below, are also worth the haul up the stairs. The Green River looks very very green. Recommend both, but unless you are in excellent shape, do one on one day and the other on the next. The castle can be accessed by road up the back side. See more..
- 4.5 Yaliboyu Evleri (15 reviews)
-Trademark of Amasya
Historic Sites • Architectural Buildings
These beautiful houses on the shores of Yeşilırmak river are the trademark of Amasya. As throughout the history there have been many floods, fires and earthquakes in the area, the houses we see today are from the early 19th century only. They have been residential houses in the past whereas today, they serve as hotels or museums or restaurants. Their reflection on the Yeşilırmak river is an attraction for photography enthusiasts. - 4.5 Mehmet Pasa Camii (14 reviews)
-Beautiful and neat mosque
Religious Sites
We prayed there just in time for jum'ah prayer. The women had to pray in the room next to the camii. It was a beautiful old camii from the outside (I couldn't look the inside). The toilet was newly refurbished I suppose, it was very clean and has the ablution section for women inside the toilet. It was located on the main road near to the market and the riverside. Easy to find See more..

-Busts of Sultan's Sons
Points of Interest & Landmarks
This is a walking path on the shores of Yeşilırmak river with the view of famous Amasya houses and rock tombs. Amasya has been an important city in Ottoman Empire: sons of Sultans, who were also the future sultans, were sent here to learn how to govern a smaller entity to get ready to the ultimate job ahead. This road is decorated with the busts of those who spent their youth here at Amasya and who afterwards got the throne. So, in that respect, this walking path is very much in line with the glorious history of the city. I recommend to have a walk here when you're in Amasya, not because the busts do have an artistic value but rather because it's a nice place with a nice view. See more..

- 4.5 Merzifonlu Kara Mustafa Pasa Cami (3 reviews)
-Famous for Its Ablutions Fountain
Spent < 1 hour Religious Sites
Dating back to 1666, this mosque is quite unique in relation to its ablutions fountain located inside the courtyard. The mosque itself is not that interesting yet the painting on the inner part of the fountain's ceiling is one of a kind. It illustrates the latest developments (including the technological ones) in the realm of Ottoman Empire of the time. Unfortunately very few people understand this unique feature unless they visit the mosque with someone who knows and can interpret this painting. See more..
- 4.0 King Rock Tombs (286 reviews)
-Amazing history stuffed with vandalism
Ancient Ruins
That tombs are amazing, you can see them at the mountain, looking to the city from top, wherever u walk at the city. They look great from the city. Climbing to there is easy as they build stairs, but still not good for old people, needs a bit exercise. At the area there are ruins of a hammam from Ottoman era. The problem is there are many text craved on the walls of the tombs. Which pissed me of when you climb all the stairs and see the history is ruined by vandals writing their own names on the walls. See more..
- 4.0 Hazeranlar Mansion (66 reviews)
-Every Town Has a Similar Museum
Speciality Museums
Located in a beautifully restored old mansion, this is a sort of an ethnographic museum where daily life in an Ottoman house is enacted. The building dates back to 1865 and gets its name from the lady who lived in this house for a long time. It's no different than similar museums in different towns. The only exhibit that worth the attention is the furnace at the entrance floor which is a spectacular peace of art. Other than that, it's just ordinary. Museum card is valid here. I can recommend a visit only if you have too much spare time in town or if you had never been to such a museum in Turkey before. See more..

-Un hammam tra gli yali.
Historic Sites • Ancient Ruins
- 4.0 Gumus Maden Mosque (1 review)
-Famous for Rain Prayers
Spent < 1 hour Religious Sites
This is an off the beaten path mosque, rarely visited except by the locals but it's a must see if you around this part of Turkey. The mosque is converted from a church as in the past many Christians lived here. Unlike many other mosques which used to be a church in the past, at this mosque, Christian details are preserved: they are hidden under a curtain during prayers and the curtain is lifted when there are visitors. Wooden ornaments are also very impressive. This mosque is also famous for its annual rain prayer, a tradition which also existed when it was a church. See more..

Its a beautiful museum the Shehzade’s and Sultan’s done from wax. They are just incredible “Literally they feel like being real TBH” great work of art. The house as well in which the museum is, is well preserved typical ottoman house. The only downside is that i wish it was bigger and i hope more characters are added. Its worth looking at See more..

See more..
