  9. 4.5 Hattusha (335 reviews)
    - The past glory of a great empire....
    Historic Sites • Ancient Ruins
    Hattusha image
Hattusha used to be the capital of the Hittite Empire, in the late Bronze Age, one of the main competitors to the ancient Egypt. Not much is left, unfortunately, but whatever is left is enough to make you realize that you are not looking at the ruins of a fortress but an entire, huge city, where archeological work is still going on and will continue to do so for decades to come... No other tourists at the time of our visit, which allowed us to take our time and imagine how it might have looked like at the peak of its glory. The most interesting and the most significant place to see are the Lion Gate, the Sphinx Gate, the Yazilikaya sanctuary and the Green Stone. See more..
  10. 4.5 Yazilikaya (127 reviews)
    - Another trip back in time..
    Ancient Ruins
    Yazilikaya image
Yazilikaya was the holly site of Hattusa, the capital of the Hittite Empire and is located within walking distance from the gates of the city ruins. It is famous for its amazing rock reliefs of various male deities and represents an important aspect of the Hittite art. It was made in the early 1200 BCE. If you have any interest in ancient history of the Anatolian Peninsula and the Hittite Empire, Hattusa and Yazilikaya are not to be missed.. See more..
  11. 4.5 Çorum Muzesi (124 reviews)
    - Historical building, contemporary designed museum

    Çorum Muzesi image
Open air presented (biblical) byzantian objects, (pagane) hitit objects, (islamic) seljuk objects... different civilizations in the same land in different eras. Inside is quite contemporary, well curated, designed for handicaps thru motorized stairs. Ethnografic hall is a nice experience thanks to traditional soundtrack.. See more..
  12. 4.5 Alacahoyuk Muzesi (92 reviews)
    - Awesome statues and early bronze age kings graves
    History Museums
    Alacahoyuk Muzesi image
This is worth getting a taxi to from other sites, as it's a fascinating ruin, currently being improved to be more accessible. Immediately you are impressed by the two stone "sphynx" guardians at the gates, and then the surprisingly long tunnel under the ruins, and finally the endlessly fascinating early bronze age graves, which appear to have been relocated as found from other areas around Alaca. Some of the skeletons have lavish gold jewellery and crowns, and the sites are strewn with fascinating relics which they were buried with. The museum is also very good. The whole site takes 30 to 90 minutes to walk is and is mostly flat paved ground. Some areas are off limits for excavation. See more..
  13. 4.5 Bogazkale Museum (55 reviews)
    - Compact Museum
    Speciality Museums
    Bogazkale Museum image
First of all, let me state that the name of the museum is "Boğazköy" not Boğazkale. It's a compact yet very impressive museum, opened back in 1966 and renovated in 2011. The displays in the museum are from the Hattuşa Hittite Site. The catch of the museum is the sphinx reclaimed from Berlin. The museum pass is valid here. It has the necessary infrastructure for those who use wheelchairs. The displays are both in Turkish and English. The visit of Hattuşa site would be incomplete if you miss this museum, so if you are around and are interested in Hittite civilization, allocate your time and do visit this compact museum. See more..
  14. 4.5 Great Temple (34 reviews)
    - A must see
    Ancient Ruins
    Great Temple image
One of the best kept secrets in Turkey is Hattusa near Corum. There is a wealth of history and culture of the Hittite civilization. It is a huge area to explore as you walk through ancient times. Fortunately, this area is not over-run by crazy masses of tourists with selfie sticks, and let's hope it remains untrampled. See more..
  15. 4.5 Bogazkoy - Alacahoyuk Milli Parki (15 reviews)
    - A beautiful place to visit
Spent More than 3 hours National Parks • Nature & Wildlife Areas
Bogazkoy - Alacahoyuk Milli Parki image
An uncrowded and fascinating place to visit. It is a huge area that you cannot see in just one day. Certainly a must see if you are in Corum. You are walking through an ancient Hittite civilization. Very fortunately it remains a quiet, untrampled site; not yet overrun by masses of tourists with their selfie sticks. See more..
  16. 4.5 Alaca hoyuk (12 reviews)
    - Another Hittite's Necropolis
Spent 1-2 hours Historic Sites • Ancient Ruins • Historic Walking Areas • Monuments & Statues
    Alaca hoyuk image
The highlight of this necropolis: several burial pits in which plates and dishes, weapons, ritual objects and ornaments are discovered. In additions, several monumental defensive walls with figures of sphinxes on the gates, a temple, and other architectural structures dates from Hittite period are worthy to be explored. We visited Alacahöyük in end of August 2020, still in midst of C19 thus not many visitors were around. Though the archeological works have resumed and made our visit more interesting. Just steps away there is a small museum with limited collection of Hittite's vessels, statues, etc. Most of the collections are displayed in Anadolu Medeniyetleri Müzesi in Ankara. See more..

  19. 4.0 Incesu Kanyonu (16 reviews)
    - Hittite itinerary
Spent More than 3 hours Canyons
    Incesu Kanyonu image
The canyon is equipped with a fenced wooden hiking path. The wooden bars paved along the trail are damaged, so be careful. The natural beauties of the canyon are not exceptional; water is low and sediment banks have confined the stream to a narrow bed. Still I enjoyed the scents of nature, fresh fig, juniper and sage along the path. At the end of the path the Kybele relief can be seen as the highlight. I absolutely recommend. See more..
  20. 4.0 AHLPARK (15 reviews)
    - Quite good shopping center
    Shopping Malls
    AHLPARK image
It looks stylish, modern and quite new. You can find middle-class brands( Waikiki, Colin's)and also quite expensive ( reasonable) cosmetics and parfumes, brands for children (ebebek, Kanz), accessories, things for home( Praktikper), Home textile, there's quite good food court with most common brands of cafes. There is also a cinema. I think, for a local city as Çorum place is very nice and profile of people(visitors) is ok. See more..
  21. 3.5 Catak Tabiat Parki (4 reviews)
    - Piknik
Spent More than 3 hours Nature & Wildlife Areas • Parks
    Catak Tabiat Parki image
Şehir gürültüsünden uzak ve sıcaklık olarak daha serin olan bir piknik alanı. Ama mescit alanları bakımsız ve pis bırakmışlar. Temizliğe biraz daha dikkat edilmesi gerekiyor.
