    Doi Tung image
Mae Fah Luang Garden. a beautiful floral park The flower garden was designed according to the wish of Princess Mother (the mother of King Rama 9). Entrance for 90 THB (discount for seniors) A delight, my earlier study of the reviews and other inputs proved me right, it had a rightful place on my bucket list, I am keen on floriculture, God's bounty to us. It compares favourably with the gardens in Europe and Dubai, though smaller. Hire of a Golf cart for seniors is recommended, as there are inclines. See more..

  10. 4.0 Akha Hill Tribe (1 review)
    - Informative!
Neighborhoods • Points of Interest & Landmarks
Part of our tour, this optional visit was organized ( $ 22 US ). First we were picked up at our resort, drove in a pick up truck, up the mountain , the terrain is very uneven . Once there we walked up on uneven path to meet the families, were showned their homes and habitat. It was so informative to learn about the long neck tribe women where they believe if a girl is born on a Wednesday night, she is cursed so to remove this , she must wear the long metal attachment to her neck as early as age 5 weighing 1kg then as she grows she must change it to a heavier one and longer. This whole apparatus makes their shoulders go down and have long necks. We got to take pictures and of course there are shops where we can buy souvenirs and indirectly help them out. See more..

    - The Long Neck People

    Hill Tribe Villages image
Heard about this group of people. Able to visit this village. How the ladies endure this neck-breaking life? The "necklace" is made of long and heavy rod. Girls as young as six years old start to put this necklace around their necks. I don't really understand for what reasons, maybe for attraction, safety or traditional beliefs. See more..
