- 5.0 JP Boxing Gym (28 reviews)
-Life changing experience
Sports Camps & Clinics
I’ve stayed at JP Gym for 3 months now and have loved every minute of my experience. I came here a complete beginner and thanks to the world class trainers, I am now able to fight which I will be doing in 3 days time. I truly recommend this to anyone regardless of age or ability. In the first month I was training with a group of people which was really helpful to learn the right techniques as well as that we all created friendships and I hope to see them again soon. However if u want a more personal experience they also offer that too and is the perfect to prepare for a fight etc which I have been doing for the last two months. - 5.0 Baan Chuen (5 reviews)
-Such a special homestay with the loveliest host!
Monday: Spent 2-3 hours Lessons & Workshops
This was the most beautiful homestay I've stayed at so far in SEA -it really feels like home! The owner is absolutely lovely, she tried to make me feel very comfortable, made me pancakes every morning, we had nice conversations and her artsy shop in front is a highlight itself and definitely worth a visit. I also got invited to join the movie night that always takes place on Sunday evenings and I enjoyed it very much! Furthermore the room was so cozy and super clean, I didn't sleep so well in weeks, mattress is very comfy too. The location is also very convenient to explore the city by foot and get everything you need near by like restaurants, cafes and the night food market. I'd always stay at Baan Chuen again if I came back to Phitsanulok :-) See more..
- 5.0 Green Massage & Spa (2 reviews)
-Best value for money massage in Phitsanulok
Spas
I did the 90min aromatherapy massage for 700 baht. My friends did 90min Thai massage for 300 baht. Let me explain why value for money. First, this is a standalone building with ample parking space. Upon entry at the reception area, you will be served with a cool refreshing drink while you sit at the sofa selecting what kind of package/massage you want. They will then bring you to a place to soak your tired feet in a wooden tub so that the masseur can wash your feet with the sliced lemons in the tub. For the aromatherapy, the masseur will bring you to a 2 massage beds private room with attached toilet. You will be required to take a shower before the massage. They will provide you with disposable undies for the massage. I believe this is a couple room as I also see that they provide disposable tube for female as well. I would rate my masseur 9 out of 10 for her massage skill. I shower again after the massage to wash off the oil. They served another drink after the massage. This is like paying the street massage price for high class massage facility, service and fantastic massage skills. Definitely value for money. Highly recommended. See more..

- 5.0 Phitsanulok Taxi Service (1 review)
-Taxi Transport Phitsanulok to Chiang Mai
Monday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Taxis & Shuttles
Trains are very scarce in the weekend to reach Chiang Mai out of Phitsanulok. (Unless you like to catch your train at 2am in the night) . So this taxi service made me an excellent deal to drive me to Chiang Mai. For approx 100 euro, a price you pay in Europe from an airport to city center, they brought me in a mere 4.5 hours to my destination. Picked up at hotel in Phitsanulok, delivered at hotel in Chiang Mai. The drivers - a couple , husband and wife - change steering wheel halfway the drive are excellent and carefull drivers and the car is clean and spacious. They also provide all regular taxi services within the city. An excellent service if you're in need of transport in and around Phitsanulok See more..

-Striking jackpot with Mother Nature
National Parks • Parks
We went to Khao Kho in the hope of seeing the magnificent sea mist at sunrise and Thai Sakura blossom. Before we departed to Khao Kho, I communicated with the Park on the Thai Sakura blossom. It wasn’t a favouring reply from them. They estimated that the blossom will be from 12 January 2020 onwards. Nevertheless, we went ahead hoping to see the sea mist at sunrise (also subjected to weather condition). 29 December 2019 was the day we visited Phu Gin Rong National Park and the day we strike jackpot with Mother Nature. Not only did we see the magnificent sea mist at sunrise (although it wasn’t very dense, it was still breathtaking.), we caught the Thai Sakura in full bloom too! Due to weather change in Thailand, the blossom came early on 25 December 2019 instead of the Park’s estimated date. It was Day 4 of the blossom when we saw the gorgeous blossom. Thus, the hills were covered with lovely pink coat. The waking up at 3am on 29 December 2019 was so rewarding and memorable for us! See more..

The Museum was founded by Sgt Maj Thawee, it comprises three buidings of fascinating memorobilia collected by the Sgt Major Thawee. - 4.5 Sappraiwan Elephants Sanctuary (26 reviews)
-a week with the gentle giants
Nature & Wildlife Areas
My son and I stayed at Sappraiwan for a week to work with the elephants. The beds at the volunteer dorm felt similar to my kitchen countertops, but there was AC and hot (warm) water showers. The elephants were such a joy to be around, and the structured program was led by a delightful young woman named Pui. It was informative and fun while remaining to be volunteer/work based. The food was tasty, but we did eat very similar things each day and rice made up at least 50% of the food I consumed. The facilities resembled a tired Comfort Inn in the US, but the people were all kind and I was there to volunteer not vacation. After a night in the dorm I had to pay the difference and move to a hotel room because the bed was just that bad. The accommodations there were certainly better. I understood why the elephants were chained (females and adolescents) , and eventually got used to that. However, I was very distraught to learn that the adult males are chained in the jungle for their entire 4-7 month hormone filled stages, and they go through this each year. Half of the elephant's life is spent on a 2M tether. I was told it is because they don't have a safe enclosure for the males, because they are aggressive in this phase. I wish they had a fundraising effort to come up with a more humane situation. I would have rather seen a smaller pool and fewer rock sculptures in order for the males to have another option. That piece of the experience did not seem sanctuary-like at all. See more..

This site is amazing as it was the original city of Song Kwai City, before Phitsanulok and pre-dates the Sukhothai era which means it dates back 700 or more years. It’s a bit away from central Phitsanulok but worth the venture! Be sure to find the Buddha footprint. See more..

On a mountain quite a bit from Phitsanulok. It is a more "chinese type" of temple where you also have a brilliant view over the rice fields surrounding Phitsanulok. Statues of venerable monks, the Royal Family of Thailand and Ganesha to worship on the premises. A very different experience than some other Wats. See more..

- 4.0 Poi Waterfall (9 reviews)
-Perfect Place for Lunch and a Swim
Waterfalls
I went here with a group of friends in early March 2019. This waterfall is wonderful for having a relaxing day by the water in north-central Thailand. There is no admission cost either. There are swimming spots both above and below the waterfall as well. It is very picturesque as well and the water did not look as brown as it does in Trip Advisor's cover photo. When we went, the water level was low enough on the top that you could walk across without any issues and we also saw some locals drive motorcycles and trucks across. The locals there were also very friendly and join in their barbecue (we gave them some food too). I'll add a picture or two once I figure out how to do that. Note that in the rainy season and immediately after, there may be too much water to go swimming safely. TL;DR: If you're in Phitsanulok or Petchabun, go check out this waterfall. It's worth your time. See more..
