Especially in the rainy season, it is especially beautiful. Above is a stream flowing through a stone courtyard on both sides, shady by large trees.    Beware coming here by Google Maps...it took me kms wrong on my way from khao yai. We passed the turn in and ended up near the Sai Thong National Park. Anyway we backtracked, found our way to our very nice hotel (http://www.baantonmai-chaiyaphum.com/ ) 3 kilometres before the park entrance, then visited the park. All you're going to see, is in a very compact area, so its an easy visit. Probably 2hrs is sufficient. The road goes in past the park visitors centre, goes along for say 2 kilometres and splits right and left. Left takes you to the rock formations, right takes you past the flower fields to the view point. All is worth seeing. If coming by Google maps, you can use Wat Non Sawan Chaiyaphum or Ban Non Sawan Chaiyaphum close locations to the park entrance. See more..

   This flower field blooms in July and August with grass fields dotted with pink, purple and white Siamese tulips. We went on a 1 km boardwalk thru one of the best parts. There are also cultivated gardens at the entrance and around a section with rock formations. The flower field is part of Pa Hin Ngam National Park which also had some outstanding sandstone rock formations in another section Buggies will take you around the main attractions for a mere 30 baht but walking would be OK for the fit and hydrated as the distance is not that great. The time to go is July or August they tell me, We were there in mid August and 90% of the tulips were still in great condition. A wonderful attraction and well worth a visit in that time period. This is a 2 price attraction. foreigners are x 5 the Thai price which equates to 200 baht vs 40 baht. The sign is devious because the Thai prices are in non-Arabic numerals.     A beautiful golfing experience located just before you get to the dam. Very picturesque so take your camera and its loverly and cool in the early morning. It's about a 45 minute drive from the Koosai restaurant and bar in Chumphae who organises golfing days out. Worth a visit. See more..

    I spent a month in the province exploring every nook and cranny of the the two valleys. This area is really nice because its a different climate. You will find the Siam tulips growing on both sides of the main building and maybe find a nice soi dog as a guide for your walk on the trail. The view point gives you a good idea of how many different crops are growing and what season the harvest was in. If you time it right you will get a perfect fog bowl.     This temple is mostly known for its collection of ancient carvings which have been collected in a pavilion on the grounds. There are about two dozen of them, all dating back to the 9th century. They are mostly Jataka carvings which tell stories from the lives of the Buddha. There are also some uncarved stones and a couple with elaborate finial designs. They would once have been boundary markers for ancient wats during the Dvaravati era. They will mostly appeal to history buffs and art lovers. See more..

    Absolutely amazing site. A huge area of stone ruins and temples you are free to walk through. The only roped off area was a temple that was unsafe due to structural issues.     There is a certain charm to markets in Thailand. Its a place that tends to be pretty similar no matter where you go. They will have the vegetable staples, small household items and other things needed for living in the countryside. Where the markets shine is access to snacks and fruits. I enjoy getting dinner at markets like this because like the Roti picture above there are many choices for snacking and eating. I had to deal with the rain the few times I went but in a way it adds to the countryside nature of the market itself. People were also friendly and I did not get Thaied too that often. I understand some people can't help themselves but they are such a minority to the number of kind people. See more..

    This is not where you go to experience a spectacular and famous temple, you won't find it. This is where you go to find beauty among the locals. This is not a tourist hotspot, you practically have the whole place to yourself, if you take account for a few locals and the monks. This was my first temple in Thailand. It was a small, but beautiful experience. If you ever come across this, give it a try. It probably won't be the highlight of the trip, but you most likely won't have anything to lose by doing it.
