  1. 5.0 Nagi of Mekong Cruise (92 reviews)
    - Highlight of my trip
Thursday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Boat Tours
    Nagi of Mekong Cruise image
If you consider doing the cruise I can absolutely recommend doing it! The best part is that you are going to meet other travellers of all age groups and from all over the world and at the end of the cruise they are going to feel like family. It was absolutely worth paying the extra money because it will be much more comfortable, you will be served very tasty food and it includes an accomodation. In addition to that you will learn many things about Lao culture and history during your cruise and make interesting stops along the way. Generally it is a beautiful way to travel Laos and time is going to fly by as the views get better and better. Thank you for the flawless experience. See more..

    - Booking this boat trip on the online was incredibly seamless and convenient

Lanchang Easy Trip (Easy Trip) image
I learned about this company while reading “lonely planet south east Asia“ which is a tour guide for backpackers and those who like to save money while traveling. I contacted the company online and with in a day or so they responded as well as a requested to continue chatting via the convenient encrypt platform, WhatsApp. It was through this application that I was able to book my river trip with Miss Noi. She confirmed the time and the amount of fee for the trip… She reconfirmed within the week of my travel… And followed up the day before via WhatsApp. Incredible service. Lastly, they have competitive pricing for a day and two day Tours via boat. The price package also includes picking you up at the hotel taking your across the border; have you fill out applications (payment of visa for Laos is not included; You have to pay that separate), box lunch on boat. Follow up with all the details with the company. See more..

    - A Nice Find While Wondering

    Wat Phra Kaew image
Well I thought we were wondering but my wife had a plan. To find Wat Phra Kaew Chaing Khong. For Buddhists its very special as it is closely connected to the other two more famous ones In Bangkok and Chaing Rai. Its nice as we could walk along the river till the steps and street up to the temple. Its was very quiet, also cold as it was winter in Thailand and a cold snap came in. For us 12 degrees is cold. The monks keep it clean and well kept up, the Boat and surrounding small halls are nice. It not big at all and can be toured and photographed in an hour. See more..

    - the new way to get to the long boat
Points of Interest & Landmarks • Bridges
The 4th Thai–Lao Friendship Bridge image
if on foot do this,,, get a tuk tuk from chaing khong (its about 10km outside and will coast 100 baht each. Then get your passport stamped at departures. Get the bus over the bridge (about 40 baht per person also may have to pay for extra bags but we got away with it) The shuttle bus leaves every 20 mins or when ever its full. Then get off at the Laos side. Pay $35 after you have filled in a Laos visa form and then your are in. You will need to get a tuk tuk to the long boat port which will be another 100 baht each. Once you get to the port (boat leaves at 11am) go to the ticket office and buy the ticket. They take baht dollars and Kip (120,000 kip or 900 baht per ticket). You should get a seat number for day one so if your early go grab a coffee and some baguettes for lunch! no need to get a tour do this journey yourself.. save your self some money and hassle.. This new bridge is a dream, but does mean two extra tuktuk journeys rather than the old boat across the river system. See more..
