It is hard to describe how beautiful the destination of a hike to Zelene pleso is. Pictures cannot describe the grandness of the mountains when you reach them. The Zelene pleso lake is surrounded by amazing High Tatras peaks and is nicely hidden from civilization by a 3 hour hike foot path. However, you can definitely speed that up a bit and be there in 2 h 20 minutes. As for going down - we made it in 1 h 30 minutes but we were rushing a bit. So do not let the 3 h one way hike scare you. Do bring good shoes, though, as the footpath becomes quite "rocky" 30-40 minutes into the hike. See more..

We were looking for a mountain peak to climb with two smallish children, 4 and 7. With a significant help from the Solisko chairlift, we've made it! Our children have loved their first ascent, and are already waiting for more. The path up for them was like an interesting game, and they also enjoyed the view. And the descent, well, was even easier. However, I have to warn that this might be not for everyone. The path is steep, and some places more difficult than the others. The children must be ready for this adventure both physically and mentally (it also means having some discipline!). See more..

First buy ticket online a week or more before entering. Than you have ticket from skalnate pleso, so you have to be there on the reservation hour. Entering there (by cable linę) from tatranska lomnica town, także at least 1 hour, probably.even 1.5 hour (im high season). If you are at Łomnica peak,i t is a great opportunit. You can't just walk on this peak (only by climbing). Great view for slovak and Polish mountain. You have about 40-60 min to see, than you have to rise down. It’s a brilliant place to visit in summer for the walks, in winter as a winter skiing resort. This time we took the cog railway from Strba , it was a nice way to climb the mountain and a return journey is only €2! In addition there are lot of other paths around the aria. The place is also suitable for families with small children. The place is very popular and it might be crowded on weekends and holydays You must take into account that because of the height of the area weather might be rainy and visibility being limited. I didn't know how easy it would be to bring my 87 years old grandfather to this place as they allowed them to be driven up until the Castle Door. Despite my grandfather's age, he could walk up to the 2nd level of the castle and enjoy the beautiful artifacts and the city view. Couldn't find the waterfalls of Hrebienok to review it, so write it down here. Both ways we didn't used the funicular, and the way up is about half an hour or 40 minutes. After you going up, there is a trail to see the waterfalls and all the beautiful forest around. Very nice hiking, excellent views, definitely worth a trip. See more..

Bardejov was a unique stop, in our memories. We enjoyed the quiet square by having a cappuccino at one of the cafe's that has seating on the perimeter of the square. Unfortunately, we arrived just as the entrance to St Egidius Church closed (4pm at that time of year), so we were unable to climb the the viewpoint. That being said, it may have been less busy at that time due to that fact and we had the square to ourselves. For that reason, I would recommend arriving at the end of the day (although make sure that you check the opening times for the church before arriving). See more..

Mindbending fun for kids and adults. If you have kids, it's a must-have place to visit, but saying that, not sure if my husband and I enjoyed it more then our 11 years old. They have free WIFI so you can download a free app and all your pictures will come to life. Only a certain amount can go at the same time. We went in the winter, so it wasn't very busy, but you can make an online reservation to ensure your slot. The staff are incredible and patiently take you through the areas, explain how to use the app to take the best pictures; they even offer to take family pictures. Skok waterfall is easily reachable from Strbske Pleso. The walk grants you with a nice mountain and river views, the path is not too difficult and is suitable for a nice family activity with small children. The walk takes approximately 1:30h and has no dangerous places on the way. You can also climb the waterfall and enjoy the view - and the lake that is on the top.
