-Amazing place
Mountains • National Parks • Canyons • Forests • Geologic Formations
We went in Suchá Belá route. It was a 2 hour hike up the bend of the river with obstacles (steep ladders, chains, steps, rocks, water). Good shoes are needed. We went back with bikes from the mountain in 30 min (walk 2 hours) 7 eu each fir bike rent. Great experience! See more..

-Heaven - hard, but worth every minute !!!
Canyons
To tell the truth, this is one of the highlights of our trip to Slovakia. A place that is one big paradise. There is parking for cars and the entrance costs money. The route is not easy, there are places where the ladders are a bit dangerous. The hike on foot is relatively difficult. Not suitable for small children at all. But the place is amazing. Green forest, water, ladders and bridges, everything creates a great atmosphere. It took us about 4 hours to go up and another two and a half hours to go down. The way down is slightly easier, on a paved road. You have to take plenty of drinking water and something to eat. Note that on a large part of the route, there is no cellular phone reception. After all, it was really one of the highlights of the trip. It's a paradise. See more..

- 5.0 Vyhliadkova Veza Hradova (15 reviews)
-Over Kosice
Observation Decks & Towers
After an old-city walk and a good lunch we went to Hradova-hill to see the panorama. We drove there by car but the bus No 29 runs from the centre to View Tower (Vyhliadková veža) bus stop. We walked from the car park in the forest about 20-25 minutes. It’s easy but you should wear comfortable shoes. The tower is 21, 5 metres and on the top there’s 3 panoramic terrace. We were over the city and could see Kosice. The view was amazing, it’s worth to visit it. See more..

- 5.0 Zadielska tiesnava narrow (12 reviews)
-Water, rocks and beauty
Canyons • Hiking Trails
We went for a walk to Zadielska dolina with one senior, so we only walked the easier part along the stream, and did not go up the hill to see the gorge from above, but we will certainly do so next time. The path is some 3km each way and trainers are sufficient for the trip. The walk is easy, a little uphill, accompanied by the stream all the time. Above you, high rocky walls and trees growing directly from the rock, and all around interesting views into cracks and little caves. At the end of the gorge, there is a buffet offering drinks, ice cream and snacks. Toilet is available there as well. When we visited in June 2017, it said it is open only during weekends, so check the wooden board at the beginning of the gorge. This is a pleasant and relaxing walk in a beautiful nature. See more..

-fun trail inside the cave, take the last tour of the day if you want explanations in english
Monday: 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM Spent 2-3 hours Caverns & Caves
the starting point is at the Jozefina guest house. from there, a 1 km easy walk, partly through a lovely forest. what makes the cave interesting is the trail itself - ropes, ladders and crevices. our guide was some what unfriendly (maybe tired?) though knowledgeable, patient and able to explain in English as it was the last tour of the day and therefore less pushed by schedule. - 5.0 Prielom Hornadu (11 reviews)
-Adventure
Bodies of Water • Nature & Wildlife Areas
I loved this dirty route: some of the off-beaten paths lead across really wild surroundings, so be ready to climb, jump, slide, run, hike and trek. Be also ready to swim, should you fall down from one of the wooden/metal ladders not always fixed properly on rocks/floor. Bring adequate clothing, and especially shoes! Also if traversing the longer and more adventurous paths, don’t expect to find food or drinks on your way. Bring a raincoat and bear bell/bear spray too. We had exciting time, I recommend! See more..
- 4.5 St Elizabeth's Cathedral (Dóm Svätej Alzbety) (713 reviews)
-Stunning Cathedral
Religious Sites
An amazing setting with the cathedral in a square surrounded by the city’s tram system, cycle routes, pavement and restaurants. The cathedral is simply stunning from all angles and very photogenic. There were flags displayed everywhere for the Vatican visit which I believe took place last year. Outside the entrance there was a cycle stand with a rather eccentric bike that was completely covered in crocheted knitwear - even the wheels! An early bell from the church, recovered and reconstructed after being damaged is on display and close to the Whistling Fountain and city theatre. Inside, the cathedral is impressively ornate with stained glass, statues and paintings. There was a service for service men and women when I visited and the atmosphere was very stately. I wish I could have spent longer but I only had a few minutes which hardly seemed to do it justice. I hope to return again. See more..

The historical centre of Košice, whose medieval city walls were removed in the 18th century, is today formed by a nearly one kilometer long promenade lined with exquisite historical buildings, once inhabited by medieval kings and nobility. Together with craftsmen's houses, churches, squares and narrow streets, they create an atmosphere full of legends and stories. You can uncover these and more! See more..

- 4.5 Mikluš Prison (83 reviews)
-Miklus Prison + Rákóczi Memorial House
History Museums
I have visited the place in August 2022, on Saturday. Around 16:00 pm, I got an entrance ticket from Box Office (the main door is closed). The woman in a desk was lovely, she speak Polish, Russian and English as well. I paid 6 euro (Miklus Prison + Memorial House of Rackoczi). She took us herself with a small group of people to the prison building and left their around 45 minutes. The exhibition began with 5 min video in English language where you get to know history of the prison and also some info about city walls. 45 minutes in prison and around 30 min in Rákóczi Memorial House is enough to finish your tour. - 4.5 The Manor House Betliar (67 reviews)
-The most beautiful castle in Slovakia!
Monday: Spent 2-3 hours Historic Sites • Castles • History Museums
The title of my review tells everything. According to my opinion, this is the most beautiful castle in Slovakia. If you are nearby, do not miss it! It is definitely worth of seeing and visiting. The castle is fully equipped. One of the most interesting room in there is the library. You won´t be disappointed. Look at my picts and decide whether to go or not. I´m not sure about the English speaking guide but besides Slovak, Hungarian is pretty sure available. See more..
- 4.5 State Theatre Kosice (52 reviews)
-Wonderful building and unique experience
Theaters
Although the outside is still undergoing renovations, the inside was beautifully presented and took you back in time to a previous century with crimson upholstery and gilded detailing. I watched the ballet "Spartacus" and was enthralled. The staff were very helpful and gracious to a non-Slovak speaking foreigner and I would gladly return. I should also mention the top price seats were only 15 Euro which has to be an incredible bargain for such a first-class performance. See more..

- 4.5 Jasovska Cave (14 reviews)
-Stunning Caves
Spent < 1 hour Caverns & Caves
We visited 2 caves on one day, it was interesting to compare this with Domica Caves. This one includes lots more walking and some steep uneven steps, but it really is very beautiful. Again the tour lasts about an hour, and there is so much to see, definitely worth paying to take photos, i got some incredible shots. The tours are done in Slovakian, but it doesn't really matter that you don't know what the tour leader is saying, you can just marvel at the beautiful sights in front of you. See more..

The countryside is peaceful and beautiful in each weather, you can bike or hike or just relax in the green garden. See more..
- 4.5 Caves of Aggtelek Karst and Slovak Karst (12 reviews)
-Stunning!
Caverns & Caves
We called in the caves on our way back from Slovakia last weekend. We opted for the 1hr tour as it was quite late in the afternoon. We arrived at 3.45pm and were told the next tour was at 4pm. Wear non slip shoes and a good coat as the floor is wet and it is quite damp in there. On walking into the caves you are greeted with stunning formations and these only get better the further you walk into the cave. The height and depth of some of them are amazing and you will need a good camera flash to capture the beauty. In the music hall we were told to sit while the guide set the music going and he worked the light show in the background highlighting the stalagmites and stalactites. This was beautiful as different lighting highlighted different areas and angles. We enjoyed the tour and will return but will opt for a longer tour next time. See more..
- 4.5 Chateau GRAND BARI (11 reviews)
-Little vine degustation
Wineries & Vineyards
Today we had Little vine degustation at this place, that was unique experience with charming assistance and talk of employee Mr Šanta about local vine production, all in friendly atmosphere, calmly and fluently within one hour. We definitely want to come back soon. The place is new and modern with honour to history of local area, the view is worth of visit, availability by car is easy and the offer of variety of local vines is uncompetitible. See more..
