  1. 5.0 SupKayak (17 reviews)
    - Best experiences in Montenegro!

    SupKayak image
We did two different experiences with Blazo, Blue Cave and to the lakes. He is the perfect guide: professional and really nice to spend the day with discovering the country and exploring his own secret spots. He made sure we had everything we needed (snacks and drinks) and made sure we started our trips early in the morning to be the first ones in the spots to have the greatest experience. We can do nothing but recommend him, a truly local, professional, experienced and nice guy! Thanks for all Blazo!! See more..
  2. 5.0 Museum Old Town / Muzej Stari Grad (4 reviews)
    - Cool museum, charming and cozy.
Sunday: Spent < 1 hour History Museums
Museum Old Town / Muzej Stari Grad image
Museum located directly into downtown of Herceg Novi. In museum people will immerse in the history of Herceg Novi, they will be able to travel back three centuries and see how the city changed and developed. There are a lot of old postcards, maps, banknotes and documents closely related with Herceg Novi. You can learn about the main sights of the city and see what happened to them - how the main city gates used to look, the ancient fortress of Forte Mare. Find out what happened to the great Boka hotel, what is the famous Ciro train and where is the first tourist hotel on the Adriatic. You can see what the city looked like during the period of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes and the Italian occupation. Lots of unique exhibits. See more..

  8. 4.5 Ferry Kamenari-Lepetane (285 reviews)
    - Perfect Ferry Ride
    Spent < 1 hour Ferries
    Ferry Kamenari-Lepetane image
If you drive the long way around to Kotor, continue on through town for another 11 km or so to catch this ferry for 4,50 Euros. You don’t want to drive all the way back on the same route. I thought the drive from Kotor to the ferry was super scenic, driving past small beaches, neighborhoods, and narrow one lane roads. Be careful, though not too much tourist traffic. We did not have to wait at the ferry, just drove right on. Great side trip - highest recommendation. See more..

All along the promenade you'll enjoy great views, cafes, restaurants, concrete and pebbly beaches and rest areas, harbour area and numerous stairways that will take you to the city center. It is perfect for shorter and longer walks or just for finding yourself a beach. The whole promenade is more or less six kilometers long. Beaches
    Dobrec Beach image
If you like a truly personal and special beach/experience when going to Herceg Novi (other places around the Kotor Bay) you should go here. A little beach / restaurant /bar that only can be reached by boat (as of now). Its a 35 min trip by boat from the harbour of Herceg Novi. The beach/resort have been there for long - but its just been renovated. If you need sunbeds you should book in advance or go there early. Also good to know that the beach is pebble and as underwater freshwater wells spread around. Only makes it better and fresh :-) The restaurant serves very good food. Price is above average for Montenegro but the feel and atmosfere is exclusive - and thats what they are aiming for I think. See more..

    - Small and pretty fountain, in the center of the Old Town. Lively atmosphere around. Popular spot. Worth a peek.

    Drinking fountain Karacha image
The old drinking fountain Karaca (XVI – XVII) is conveniently located in one of two Old Town's main squares: Trg Herceg Stejpana (also known as Belavista Square), near the Orthodox church of Michael the Archangel. Once, it was one of the most important drinking fountains in the town. Nowadays, from the stone fountain flows a very strong stream of water. The name comes from a spring that have been supplying the city with water for centuries. The carved marble column is simple and small but lovely. The fountain itself features Gothic, Byzantine and Romanesque styles harmoniously combined. All in all, good location (in the heart of the Old Town). Well kept. Nice surroundings. Walkable distance to other sights. There are restaurants, cafes, shops, banks and a lot more close by. Worth a peek. See more..

    Beaches
    Dobrec image
I have been to Montenegro 5 times and have fallen into the trap of heading to the larger more touristy beach such as Zanjice. I was given a look of despair when I mentioned to a friend that I hadn't been to Dobrec, even through I had passed it multiple times on boats trips to other beaches. We arrived via small boat mid morning and on a quick inspection, told the boat driver to leave us there for the day. We hired a sun bed for the day and spent the next 8 hours, swimming, eating and enjoying the chilled atmosphere. Do yourself a favour and head there next time your in Montenegro. See more..

From 2 June 2014, Institute Igalo, owner of the Tito's Villa, for the first time opened it for visitors. Guided tours are organized on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, at 18 and at 19.15 h, on Montenegrin, English and Russian language. Ticket is 3 euros and can be bought at the entrance, 15 min before the tour. Main entrance is from northern side, meaning from highway. This is a unique facility, on of his 33 Villas around ex Yugoslavia, but it is told to be the only one specially built for him. It was built in 1976, for only 6 months. Tito decided to make it right there due to benefits he felt himself being treated in the Institute Igalo (Institute offers health treatments based on using natural factors as medical mud and mineral water, plus medical gymnastics, electrotherapy...). Therefore within his Villa, you may see therapy department, congress hall, relax room in which he used to watch his favorite movies - he was a great fun of Western movies, his and the suite of his wife Jovanka, rooms in which other high officials and his staff were staying, as well as very unique place as his nuclear shelter.
