San Jose del Cabo main square image
We were staying in a nearby resort and spent a couple days coming into San Jose. Both times visiting the square and Arts District. We had heard the Arts Walk on Thursday nights was something to see. We decided to do a visit prior to the actual Arts Walk - just to see what it might be all about. The area is full of shops with everything from cheap touristy stuff to beautiful clothing and jewelry stores and some very high end and interesting art. On Thursdays the streets are closed off to vehicles making the entire area pedestrian only. The shops spill out onto the street and the square is vendors and artists of all sorts, along with live entertainment Definitely a sight to see if you are ever in San Jose del Cabo. Strongly recommend reservations if you plan on a Thursday night dinner. See more..

A beautiful beach, some great views of the Coronado islands in the distance. There is a good path to walk on right next to the beach, and you can find some good restaurants with some amazing fish tacos. The crazy thing is seeing the border wall go right through the southern border and disrupt the entire coastline. Its interesting and sad to be down at the beach and see the impacts of the wall, the whole time we were at the beach we could hear the sound of border control helicopters flying over. A beautiful but sad place See more..

L.A. Cetto Boutique Valle de Guadalupe image
This was the first of the 2 wineries of our Carnival Cruise Excursion. It started with a scenic bus ride to the lovely Valle de Guadalupe. Our tour guide, Irma, was very informative with the history of Mexico and the wineries of Ensenada. Once we got to the winery we were showed every step of how the wine is made , from getting it off of the trucks, to the aging process, and everything in between. The guide at the winery was very thorough and knowledgeable. He even showed us the "proper" way to hold a wine glass and how to get the most out of a tasting. At the end of the tour we were treated with some delicious homemade sweet breads, meats and cheeses to go with our tastings. We had time to make purchases at the gift shop before heading back on the bus, where we were given a free bottle of wine to take back to the ship with us. We partied on the bus the entire way back. It was quite a good time! See more..

The food truck serving tapas was fantastic. They feature olive oil grown on site. The shrimp, mushrooms and other items cooked in that were great. As were their salads and sandwiches. They also brew their own beer that the beer drinkers with us really enjoyed (golden ale). The rose wine we all liked and their other reds were delicious too. Very pretty grounds as well. Vena Cava image
Fernanda was such an incredible host, she is not only incredibly knowledgeable but passionate about what she does. We did the premium natural wine tasting which was great, if you haven’t tasted natural wines before there is a different finish to it, almost sour like kombucha but unique and lovely. If that’s not your thing than stick to the basic tasting. We loved learning tons about natural wines and the story of Vena Cava. Will definitely be back at our next trip to the Valle. See more..

Second generation winery of the Ejido El Porvenir in the Valle de Guadalupe. It started as a dream of the Pérez Castro family (owners of La Lomita) to honor the Virgin of the Vineyards. It is the wine venture with the first certified organic vineyard in Mexico. La Carrodilla proposes a new way of making wine, through organic farming and biodynamic practices; a proposal for agricultural sustainability. We intend to open doors for sustainable agriculture, where care for the environment and respect for the same govern the way of making wine, adding to these different elements such as neatness, selection and meticulous care in the winemaking process. This and many more elements, result, almost inevitably in quality wine. See more..

  41. 4.0 El Popo Market (108 reviews)
    - Quite an adventure!
    Points of Interest & Landmarks
    El Popo Market image
The market was vibrant, colorful and fun. A local shop owner offered us a slice of whiskey soaked coconut and it was so delicious we bought a small chunk to take home. Also had some authentic and tasty Chile rellenos with rice, beans and tortillas. Due to COVID, restaurants took people’s temperatures and had a mat to sanitize shoes. Everyone wore masks as well. Since ours was a quick trip I didn’t get to look around much or buy souvenirs. But maybe next time! Some advice- bring your passport and allow plenty of time to get back to San Diego. The line up to get back through the border is long, slow and tedious. With lots of street vendors and men, women and children dodging traffic to try and sell you something. It took us 3 hours to get back to the border. Make sure to bring extra food, water and money with you. And make sure your gas tank is full. See more..
