Cabo Marina, Lots to see... A lesson in persistent salesmanship
We have wintered in Cabo 6 to 7 weeks every year since 2014. The Marina is in the center of the action in Cabo. I walk the Marina every morning from pole to pole, meaning the opening to the ocean on both sides. It is fabulous for jogging and walking. By 6 am the fishing boats are warming up and salesman start offering to sell fishing trips. By 9 am other vendors are opening, the most common of which is the time-share salespeople. Their pitches start with a come on for something free. Free advice or directions, free tours, free golf. My advise is don't do it. You will spend the better part of a full day of your vacation listening to a high pressure sales presentation. Other marina vendors offer cuban cigars (followed by a whispered offer of illegal drugs), silver jewelry(take a magnet with you), and pricey photo's with a 26 inch iguana. Vendors are persistent. Don't stop walking unless you are patient enough to listen and don't mind saying "no, gracias", a lot. The fishing boats and the yachts are amazing to see and the marina is surrounded by shops and restaurants and the surrounding Cabo hills covered in high priced homes and condos. Puerto Paraiso Mall (including Luxury Avenue) boarders and is open to the marina boardwalk. Some of the priciest food in Cabo is served along the boardwalk. If money is no problem, indulge. Or opt for tacos or pizza which are moderately priced. Walking the Marina twice a day (morning and after dinner) has been altogether enjoyable and as long as you are a fit male or walking with someone, a relatively safe place in Mexico. A dolphin experience and a sunset dinner cruise on a pirate ship are 2 of the many attractions bordering the Marina. I have found joy in practicing my Spanish on the prolific sales people...."No estoy interesado" or with a well thought out tease, "Do you have Chocolate Cigars". My favorite made a group of iguana photo peddlers laugh, "Oh, no thank you, I just ate".

GOOD WALK ON A NICE DAY
The marina is a good place to walk on a nice day. Stop by for a drink and do some eye shopping. You will be approached constantly by vendors doing sales pitch for their restaurant, fishing boat, and everything else in between. I would recommend buying gifts off the main marina walk way (lower price). The food, you will pay a little more but you are getting the marina location so that's fair. You should definitely take a leisurely walk if you have the time at least once to see if this is for you.
