Beautiful beach, average snorkeling
I was staying in downtown Cabo San Lucas (near the marina) and I took the purple Desierto bus to Chileno beach. I'm a solo traveller and it was easy to figure out. I took the bus from the main road Lazaro, it costs 28 pesos, and even though most of the bus drivers didn't speak English, I just told them I want to go to Chileno Beach and they let me know once we got there. For the way back, walk under the bridge and you'll see another bus shelter close by. Another bus came (not a Desierto) but it was going to San Lucas so I took it. It dropped me off at the same place I had originally taken it but across the road. I was underwhelmed when I first saw Chileno. I rented an umbrella for 250 pesos. I snorkeled on the right side of the beach, and went quite far trying to see something good, but the snorkeling is just average. Lots of fish and dead corals, not much else. My favorite thing about Chileno is that if you leave the crowds and keep walking on the beach past the rocks, you come across a gorgeous secluded area that I thought was beautiful. I spend the rest of my day here. There are bathrooms and showers available but no food. Water was cold but bearable for swimming in Jan/Feb.

TOO ROCKY!!!! TOO CROWDED!! but Still a Nice place to hang out!!
We booked our flight from LA to Cabo and booked our resort near Chileno beach, we also booked our airport transportation to our resort online with Cape Transfers because their rate were the lowest (our resort transportation offered the option but was ridiculously expensive). We spent our first 2 days visiting El arco and then San Jose del Cabo, the third day we decided we wanted to go to a beach and got recommendation from our concierge to go to Chileno beach, just please keep in mind one thing: in case you didn't know this place is probably the most crowded beach in Cabo. lots of locals go there and it even has a parking lot (which is great), we recommend you to bring sandals (even when entering the beach) because there are a lot of rocks at the bottom, I would give chileno beach a 4 out of 5 rate
