Family Get Together in San Jose del Cabo

We were staying in a nearby resort and spent a couple days coming into San Jose. Both times visiting the square and Arts District. We had heard the Arts Walk on Thursday nights was something to see. We decided to do a visit prior to the actual Arts Walk - just to see what it might be all about. The area is full of shops with everything from cheap touristy stuff to beautiful clothing and jewelry stores and some very high end and interesting art. On Thursdays the streets are closed off to vehicles making the entire area pedestrian only. The shops spill out onto the street and the square is vendors and artists of all sorts, along with live entertainment Definitely a sight to see if you are ever in San Jose del Cabo. Strongly recommend reservations if you plan on a Thursday night dinner.

    Great destination for all.
For us this was the perfect destination. It is both quaint and modern at the same time depending on where you are. On our way to the market, we stopped and watched a group of boys playing football in the arena next to a playground filled with children. We continued our walk towards the main square and evening activities, Strolling down what we named "Rodeo Drive" past the jewelry stores, upscale clothing stores and fine dining restaurants, it took about 30 minutes to reach our destination. We were there on market night and shopped our way through dozens of artists, jewelry makers hat sellers etc... We chose to eat at a restaurant that offered a dinner show of music and Flamenco dancing. The days were spent on the numerous beaches that were within walking distance. The public beach was a short uber ride away and offered a stunning view of the the bay and surrounding shoreline replete with hills and bluffs. Overall San Jose is a great destination for couples or families alike. There is plenty to do and the people are very friendly and helpful.

Old time architecture with a welcoming feel
Convenient public gathering space in San Jose del Cabo. Open for people watching every day with an interesting Art Fair on Thur evenings. Main shopping street ends at this plaza so it is a good place to meet up after a few hours of strolling the city. High end art and jewelry stores are common on streets bordering the square. At least one restaurant has a rooftop deck overlooking the area. The church overlooking the plaza is both imposing and welcoming - as it includes the iconic sign the is a tourist camera magnet.
