This is where you will find the GD Greenway, a China bicycle path network that covers all of southern China. There a -loads- of bike rental shops at the entrance. You can rent a very nice mountain or other style bike, including for the kids, for just a few $$$USD for a half a day. The ride around the reservoir takes 2-3 hours, has lots of stopping points and is good fun. The GD Greenway is relatively new and is gorgeous. The bike paths are asphalt and are new and well-marked and well-maintained, there are restrooms along the way and lots of things to see. The route can be a bit challenging as it's a bit hilly, but none of us had any problem with it. My only complaint is that we wanted to do a lot more riding but it only took a few hours to go around, and that included stopping, taking photos, etc. See more..

Beautiful landscaped grounds. Totally immaculate. You could eat from the floor. Shows the beautiful Chinese culture to the extreme. The museum amazing and the reconstruction of the dwellings totally beautiful and sympathetically restored. They even offered us a personal translator at no charge. Totally amazed no admission charge for such a wonderful attraction of which China must be so proud of. Thank you for a wonderful interesting day in respect of a wonderful man. See more..

Qi Jiang is the name of a river. Jiang means river in Chinese. So Qi Jiang Park is a park by the river. It has been greatly improved in recent years on both sides of the river, with removal of old houses and and redoing of the park. Modern bridges are put in and new LED lightings, new roads, cruises, sculptures, and playgrounds are now available in this area for the local people, as well as the tourists to enjoy. A compact 3-story mini-museum in the middle of a well preserved historical avenue reincarnated into a pedestrian only commercial avenue. Museum entry level hails major historical figures from Zhongshan, a model of the old city as it stood in the 19th century, sections of old homes, shops, streets, boat, and dock. The second floor features a theme based exhibition which changes over time in the front section, and an introduction to the historical commercial nature of the city in the rear. The third floor is a permanent display of the four great companies in China at the turn of the 20th century, headquartered in Shanghai, created by returning (from Australia) natives of Zhongshan. At the center of the museum is a 3-floor high atrium, featuring the exterior facade of period Zhongshan architecture. Admission is free. Tour time, 30-60 minutes. Spent two pleasurable hours at this pretty park in Sanxiang Town. The park has lots of shady wooded areas (ideal on a hot summer day) and a nice selection of rides and attractions including zip-lines, roller coasters, a Big Wheel and a cable-car ride up the mountain and back. Reminiscent of some of the more traditional American country parks, this pretty park is worth a few hours of your time if in the area...we could easily have spent much longer here to explore. After arriving here in 2006 we have stayed here for 6 years. The school is set over many acres in beautiful grounds with lakes. Most of the buildings are mock traditional Chinese style. It is one of the best schools in the district. If you are in Cuiheng it is well worth a visit. See more..

The smell of soy sauce hit us as we got out of the car. Entry was only 20RMB per person. We went on a Monday afternoon and had the entire museum to ourselves, so we took our time looking around the 3 floors of the museum and viewing areas of the factory. The exhibitions show the history and both the traditional & modern process of manufacturing soy sauce. The only issue I had was that there was no English text on the exhibit information, which is my problem not theirs, anyway I had my wife translate/explain some things to me. Overall I was able to figure out what the exhibits were about, as everything is laid out in a logical way. At the end of the tour through the factory you come to a tasting area, the soy sauce ice cream is a must try and tastes better than it sounds. You also get a souvenir bottle of soy sauce from the ticket office as you leave. I would highly recommend this place if you want to do something different and a good way to fill in a hour or so. A historical sight where DengXiaPin walked up the hill and refused to come back down the same way, symbolizing China was not going back to the old ways of Mao's time. The hiking trail is very well maintained, about 500 steps up along a stream and shaded by trees all the way. Deng's recording and quotations are posted tastefully along the trail. See more..

Here is my second home, every time I go back to Zhongshan will be live in nearby here. The commercial street is very large, there are food court, shopping street, shopping malls. My favorite is to eat tentacles of squid in the food court, chicken kidney, that shop is very famous, There are a lot of people to buy it every time that I came. Everything in the mall, supermarkets, fast food restaurants, KTV, cinemas, children's amusement park, bakery, dessert, jewelry stores, etc. Supermarket variety of goods, fast food restaurants contain McDonald's and KFC, KTV place large, cinema environment comfortable, you can be play here from morning to night. New Year with cousin to see a 3D movie, while watching the movie and to eat popcorn, after watching the movie, we went to the supermarket to buy things, then go to the food court to eat tentacles of squid, one day just passed. Commercial Street shops are expensive and cheap, whether ordinary people, or the rich are very suitable for shopping here. See more..

I would suggest you to walk around there in the evening when it is not that hot and humid. You can kill some time there doing window shopping and try out some street food. Good thing that no motor vehicles are allowed in the entire area. You would end up 'QiJiang' River. There are more shops by the river and street performances in summer nights. There is a nice dessert shop along the river area that I liked their "steamed milk egg", "ginger milk", "double layers skin milk". I loved the dessert there. See more..

This spa is absolutely amazing. There is no other way to describe it. From you go in, you can tell the quality they offer at very reasonable prices. Their main swimming pool is quite large and they offer a variety of hot springs. They vary from traditional flowers with healing qualities to wine and cucumber hot springs. The massages they offer are on the pricey side, but the staff were very polite and friendly. I had the Essential Oil massage and my skin felt so amazing. A quick trip to this hot springs turned into staying there for 8 hours, and there was still more to see and do! If you ever go Zhongshan you must visit this spa. See more..

In the old days, at noon, Canon gun shot was fired on daily basis at the top of the mountain by the tower. There would be some stairs climbing to the top. At the entrance by Sun Wen road, there is a statue of Dr. Sun Yat Sen and his wife, lady Song. Half way to the top, there is a nice little temple where you can pay respect to Buddha. Its absolutely stunning, I went during the day so I can see the city here. I did not visit Zhongshan for over 6 years. But this ride is 20 minutes and 3 people cost $240 YUAN. This was the more comfortable cart which you didn't have to share with anyone. But if you go during 3:00 PM on a weekday it isn't that busy. Overall absolutely stunning views and I reccomend seeing it during the day because when you come out there is a beautiful place to take photos also! See more..

This is one of the movie sets in Southern China. It can be combined with the Sun Yat Sen's Residence Memorial Museum. The park consists of 4 different area's: China, Japan, USA and UK. The Japan movie set is the biggest one in China and we liked this part the most. It looks very authentic and you feel like walking in a Japanese village. However, the other area's are definitely worth a look. You can enter many buildings and explore them. You can rent some costumes which you can keep as long as you want and make some great pictures. Depending on the amount of pictures you take and your walking speed you can spend between 2 to 4 hours in the park. We really enjoyed it and can warmly recommend it. See more..
