1. 4.5 Bamboo Forest of Junshan Mountain (4 reviews)
   - Excellent walk for the fit otherwise take the cable car.

   Was treated to a visit of the bamboo forest by my host whilst on a business trip to the area. The walk to the top of the mountain (it's bigger than a hill folks) consists mainly of rough but fairly uniform stone stairs. Took just over an hour to make it to the top and was a great workout. Not recommended for those with any health issues as I don't think it would be that easy to call it quits and double back. The bamboo forests are impressive to look at and cooling environment to walk through. The view at the summit was fantastic and thoroughly enjoyed sipping local green tea whilst relaxing after a good heart rate work out. Looks like it could be a popular and busy place on weekends and local vacation periods. I was fortunate to be able to go on a weekday and the number of people then was not an inconvenience.    If you are visiting Yueyang, this is a must visit attraction. The Pavilion is one of 3 famous towers in Jiang Nan province. Comparing to Yellow Crane Tower at Wuhan which I had been, this tower is not as impressive. Nevertheless the tower impresses with finest traditional Chinese architecture. Inside the compound also displays scaled models of past towers that were destroyed during the reign of ancient dynasty. Nice to roam around to enjoy the lake view at the rear of the tower. Nearby to the attraction is a food street offering lots of local snacks and eateries. You can go to a public piazza nearby to view an enormous aquatic sculpture. See more..

   Also known as the "Love Island", it is the largest island in Dongting Lake. A national AAAA scenic area, its attractions include Liu Yi's Well, Tombs of the Two Empresses, Feilai Bell, etc. It also has many flora and fauna especially a variety of bamboos, rare trees of red and green leaves and many birds. Interesting to visit but be prepared to squeeze into the boat for a ride out to the island and do some walking around the attractions.    来的时候正赶山洞庭湖涨水 声势更加好大 湖面更加广阔 远处的君山也若隐若现
   湖边的古建筑更是古香古色 仿佛穿越时空回到古代一样 迁客骚人名诗古画

   This is a nice park surrounded by grand tall trees. Entry is free. There is even a bamboo forest. The star of the park is a flying-style roof 3-storey tower at the top of the hill fronting the main entrance. You need to go through a long flight of steps to reach the tower. Within the park there is walking path leading to an amusement park. There is also swing bridge which I dare not cross as many children were playing across it. At the other end there is a small lake where many locals spend relaxing. If you are not in rush, take your time to explore the park. See more..

   来岳阳是因为家里亲戚在这边，这是我第二次来到洞庭湖了。小的时候去感觉洞庭湖好大，好壮观的。。。。但是这次去感觉没有那么雄伟了。坐船在湖中游览了一圈以后，心中的波澜得到了些许平复。不过还是很值得大家一去的！！！顺便说一句，那个酱板鸭很好吃~~~！！！哈哈 See more..

    The Yueyang First Underground shopping strip runs beneath Dong Miao Ling Road It consists of two levels from the street below . But the lower level which was originally designed to host eatery and food stalls , was not successful and as a result , it is closed off to the public . The upper level of the underground shopping strip comprises of mainly small shops selling clothes , shoes , toys etc . The whole underground street is fully air conditioning but lack of circulation of fresh air from the outside , makes the place smell a bit stale and stuffy . The underground shopping strip ends at the pedestrian mall where KFC is located . Worth a visit ? Unless you have no other place else to go in Yueyang . Yueyang is currently undergoing some serious construction work by demolishing old post war buildings and replacing them modern & magnificent high rise shopping centres and residential apartments .
