   We were taken to Fangyan Scenic by one of our suppliers which helped. First you are greeted by the many shops in the town selling insence for the pilgrims to take up the mountain and place at the many shrines. Our guide was able to explain the many temples and shrines as we ascended the mountain. Be prepared for a reasonably full on hike up the thousands of steps that lead you past the shrines to the temples at the top of the mountain. Don't be put off thopugh as many make the journey and many of them are the positive side of 70! You may be stared at a bit as western tourists are very rare and we didn't see any other westerners the whole time we were there. When you get to the top it is well worth the effort and the views are fantastic. Some parts of the park are a little dirty but nothing some trash cans wouldn't solve. Give yourself half a day minimum to enable you to tackle the steps at your own pace and enjoy the scenes and scenery as you go. See more..
