   My first trip in Guilin, chosen to a non popular but historical city - XingAn. I have chosen Guilin Merryland Resort thru recommendation. It’s a rather old hotel and a distance away from the city but come with pretty nice environment with a golf course and theme park for kids. What I like about were the nice natural reserve and garden, fresh air on the morning very relaxing. Great for break away from City. Another plus point nice pool for me to relax. Room rate extremely reasonable. I will be back when I need a quiet and relaxing weekend break. See more..

   About one hour’s drive from Guilin downtown. Entrance fee for adult is 55 CNY. Inside, tourists have three ways along the canal: by foot, by boat (30 CNY one way) and by electronic car (10 CNY one way). The scenery is not bad, but it requires a certain degree of Chinese history knowledge to appreciate the scenic spot. Walking around the park takes around 2 hours. Watching locals washing clothes and food in the river is somewhat fun, too. See more..
