   It's a beautiful island, spoiled by the people who go there. Great clear water for swimming, snorkelling and diving. Unfortunately, to get there, you'll probably have to be part of a tour group, which will involve loudspeakers, music, party games, singing, dancing, and general enforced bonding with your fellow tourgroup members. I'd suggest opting out and lying on the beach. You won't see much of the island, just a little part of beach, that's designated for your tour group. There's no toilets on the island, so secluded spots have sprouted a white floor covering of tissues where people have simply used the space, and thrown the tissues on to the ground, or in to the bushes. There's no litter bins either, so, the island is slowly becoming dirtier as people throw their rubbish in to the trees. But the water is clear, warm, and great for swimming, snorkelling and diving.    Booked hotel room and rented boards from the surf club in December. Prices were reasonable and staff/instructors were all very friendly and professional. Even though I didn't book any lessons, the instructors kindly let me share the van ride with them and their students to the surf break saving me a 7 mins walk carrying the board. Can't comment on the lessons themselves as I didn't take but from what I can tell, the students looked like they were having a great time and the student to instructor ratio was very good, giving individual attention to each student. During my departure, the surf club even booked a taxi for me to train station that was a lot cheaper than the price quoted by my hotel. These staff at the surf club definitely made my trip to riyuewan more memorable. See more..

   We went there on the third afternoon after the Typhoon. It was very hot and of course, not so many Chinese tourists. Nice and clean water, but the beach was quite a disappointment as there was a lot of trash lying around. Generally, it was OK, not so good as the first time I went in 2008. We went there from Wanning city, which was not far from the bay. There is a direct bus from the new bus station in Wanning directly to the entrance of Le Meridien hotel. And about 300m's walk, you will see the vast ocean. If you are lucky enough, you will be able to jelly fish swimming in the shallow water. They are pretty, but don't touch them as you never know whether they have poison. They day we went this year, there were some young guys fishing on the huge rocks about 50m from the beach. The water was so shallow that you didn't even need to swim. Anyway, nice beach. Recommended. See more..

   In my opinion, the "Xinglong Tropical Garden" is actually the "Xinglong Tropical Botanical Garden" and rated as Number 1 thing to do in Wanning/Xinglong. If you want to walk through a park like setting viewing plants, then this needs to be on your "bucket list". See more..

    This place is heavenly with lakes and very lush greenery. It is free of charge to enter. There is a hotel with café and restaurant inside and bike hire. I have to say my bike was so uncomfortable I’m glad I only hired it for an hour. 100RMB deposit for the bike and the hire fee will be deducted on your return; 20RMB one hour, 30RMB two hours. You can hire for longer. Maybe the other bikes were less uncomfortable. You can cycle on all the green striped routes and it is a vast park. You would need a taxi or car or be able to walk the 1.4miles to the entrance from the main road. See more..

    In my opinion this is the best beach on the island. It's huge and is generally very quiet. In the evenings and 5pm families come and it is quite popular. There are showers (2 RMB) and loos which are pretty clean. There is a little cafe on the beach selling drinks and snacks. The waves are often good enough to surf and certainly body board. The hinterland has a few little restaurants with one selling excellent sea food selected from the tanks. Further back behind the apartment sales office is a cool little surf themed bar.     上午游玩的是分界洲岛，下午我们去了兴隆热带植物园。植物很多，有些连名字都叫不出，游览园中，只能坐旅游车进去，只有一个地方可以驻足休息，在那里可以看到见血封喉树，可以近距离的观看它。里面的温度比外面的温度低一些，故很凉快，不过，游览的时间太短，很多花草都来不及细看。旅游的地方都有卖东西的，这里也不例外，有个地方可以喝这里的特色饮品，感觉还是不错，就是量太少，还有闻着很香，但喝起来，味道还是一般。你可以在这里买点饮品，或者香水。我建议的是，买了他们的特产罢了，如咖啡之类的，价钱也不贵。 See more..

    I'm sorry to say but I've never had such a bad experience before. Staff was rude and impatient and didn't like me from the get go because I wanted to try a shortboard without having a proof that I'm a good surfer. I'm not a good surfer, but I had quite some experience with longboards before, that's why I'm renting a board with instructor to try something new. The negative attitude culminated with my instructor driving away with other two students, leaving me on the beach behind a rock pier where I was surfing without any notice. I was lucky enough to find some helpful random people not far down the beach that called the company to pick me up. I know that not everyone has to be overly friendly, but a courtesy usually goes a long way, and there was unfortunately none in this situation. If their attitude wasn't straight up rude it was unprofessional and irresponsible. See more..
