   Excellent walk around the whole park with some excellent views. Visited on the Sunday before National Day holiday and was very quiet. 60¥ for adults to enter and free for over 70s. You can do a long rigorous walk or a shorter trail depending on which paths you pick. 750¥ to hire a round trip private car from Kunming. No food or cafe available at the park, just vending machines with bottled drinks. See more..

   The Sword Peak Pond is a very nice little pond west of the central viewing pavilion half way to the ring road within the Geo Park. The place is marked on the sketch map coming with the ticket for the Stone Forest. It’s not as crowded as the main area of mass tourism thanks to the location being a little aside of the standard track. The cool and quiet atmosphere there is very special at late afternoon when shadows are getting longer; the water is very calm with clear reflections of the surrounding 30-40 m high rocky towers. Good place for taking photos. One of the best spots to see in the stone forest. Don't miss! See more..

    This unique scenery is really worth a look if you are in Kunming (about 1 h 30 to get there by car). It is quite crowded at the entrance but it is possible to enjoy the landscape in quieter places in you move deeper in the forest. Its museum isn't well advertised but definitely worth a visit, I especially enjoyed the section with the precious stones and the ones dedicated to the dinosaurs. See more..

    We arrived to the site after struggling to find the roads because most of them are closed from different reasons. Unfortunately the site was also closed but we could walk on side road to see the water flooding. We will come back for sure after the site will be opened again. See more..
