   So it's possible I had this experience because of the nearby construction or because it's winter, but there wasn't really much going on here. The buildings themselves are pretty, but they're also mostly empty as well. Each one has a sign in both English and Chinese outside, but inside there's not much hint to what you're looking at. Still, it made for a pleasant afternoon wander. One surprise was a fighter plane, which was apparently gifted to Longyou years ago to keep safe. See more..

   This is Indiana Jones stuff. Spectacular mysterious ancient caverns. Most are still full of water and neglected. The most bizarre thing however is the level of destruction that is going on to the ones that are open to the public. Concrete is being poured over them, lights and speakers are installed, large fish ponds are being built inside the grottoes, modern carvings cover the walls now. By trying to attract tourists Despicable greed is destroying and defacing the ancient cultural historical and architectural wonder! See more..
