1. 5.0 Tomb of Emperor Taizong (Zhaoling Tomb) (1 review)

   Tang Taizong is famous for skipping the whole construct-a-mound routine when it came to his tomb, and using an existing mountain instead. Unfortunately, this means that the tomb is located at the top of a mountain. It's quite a way up, so getting a ride in a car or bike is a good idea. I got a ride up and down thanks to a local with a motorbike, for a small fee. The tomb complex is beautiful, with a big statue of the emperor (in his portrait pose) towering near the gate, and various stelae, monuments, pillars, carved stone inscriptions, and the famous statues (safety replicas, I was told) of the Six Armored Steeds. Those with energy after climbing up to the top end of the complex can hike further up the mountain. One can get to the museum at the foot of the mountain by bus from the city, but getting back means one needs to get to Liquan city. There are occasionally drivers offering trips to the tomb from the museum, but bike pillion is cheaper. One of the best things about the visit, though, is the gorgeous views along the mountain road.    The museum is good-looking and well-maintained, with different buildings dedicated to different types of Tang dynasty art (stelae, statues, murals, etc). The beautifully landscaped garden also has some nice statues and stelae outdoors. Easy to get to by bus from Xi'an, but must hitch a bus or car to Liquan city to get transport back. Launch point to get to Tang Taizong's tomb itself. The souvenir shop has some good stuff at reasonable prices, and a friendly, helpful, English-speaking person running it. The museum is built around the tomb of Maogong i.e. Li Shiji, a very important general who served three Tang emperors and helped subdue Goguryeo. One can climb the mound for an alta vista of the surrounding area. There's also a nice, homely restaurant opposite the museum gate. See more..

   也许是想象的太美好了 去了一看很失望吧 出租车直接带我们到山顶的李世民陵墓 本来以为会很霸气 结果感觉是一片凄凉 都还没有开发完 门票是10块钱吧 学生证打完折 进去都没什么看的 很一般 不过后面的那座山倒是值得一爬 风光很美 可以看到整座山 就明白了 为什么昭陵被称为是陕西关中“唐十八陵”中规模最大的一座 See more..

   去昭陵，让我和朋友都觉得陕西的旅游和文物保护都做得不好。
   1、去昭陵，并不像书上和网上的攻略写的那样“坐了长途车到礼泉就有公交巴士”，事实上我们下了长途大巴后根本没车可转，只能包一辆黑车。100元一天，吉利车。据说当地人都没公交车可坐，我们转了一天下来也确实没发现公交车和车站。不明白昭陵这么有名的景点，为什么不开通旅游专线？
   2、包车去昭陵，得上山。途中经过韦贵妃墓和长乐公主墓，我和朋友心想来都来了，而且长乐公主很有名，我们应该去看看。两座古墓从外观看都非常简陋，管理员是当地农民，票价不便宜，20元一张。我们进去以后觉得这票价非常不值。古墓壁画损毁非常严重，破坏的程度得让人想流泪。长乐公主墓的壁画精美绝伦，但由于潮湿、渗水，墙皮都快脱落了，壁画的颜料有流淌的印迹，虽然是干掉的印迹，一看就是水浸湿过的。最可恶的是，在最里面摆放棺椁的内室，墙上刻划得一塌糊涂，全是游人刻的“到此一游”“XX爱XX”，完全看不出壁画的样子。更有人爬到最高处的墓室顶上刻字，我不明白这些怎么那么好的精力和体力，如此热衷为自己留名。后来当我们知道，这些昭陵的陪葬墓都是承包给私人看护时，我们明白为什么保护得如此之差，又为什么票价会如此贵（相对于保存精美、完善的兵马俑、阳陵才90、40多元的票价，你就会知道我们为什么说贵了！！）他们只顾收钱，从来不维护！后来又听说墓室里壁画是复制品，我这才踏实了点，但是游人们这种行为仍让我觉得不耻。“丑陋的中国人”，我为自己的同胞感到羞愧，为我们同胞不知保护自己祖先留下来的灿烂文化感到痛心。自己都不爱惜自己的文化，我们的文化能不消亡吗？
   3、最后到了昭陵，我们实在太失望了。这好歹也是唐太宗李世民的墓啊！完全不像我们以前在网上看到的图片，给我们的感觉就像圆明园遗址一样苍凉。虽然那些图片上看起来未加修护，断壁残垣，但是也比我们亲眼看到的崭新的大理石广场、不伦不类、貌似豪华却粗糙的豆腐渣工程要好，完全就成了一个人造景点。唐太宗的雕像是空心的，两边仿造的昭陵六骏石碑已经断成了好几截，广场的石台阶都已经下陷，最可笑的是那些仿制的石马，雕功如此粗鄙，如同两只胖狗一般，毫无艺术感可言，难道诺大一个陕西，就找不出有精湛雕刻工艺的石厂或艺术家？还是那句话：这个工程不知亏空了多少银子，才会如此节省成本。
   总之，这天的行程不轻松，也并不开心。 See more..
