   This was a very enjoyable and energetic walk. First we had to walk 3-4 km to get to the cable car ride. The cable car ride was one of these non-stop types so you had to be nifty on your feet getting in and out of the cars. There were helpers opening the doors for you so it was easier than it appeared initially. The ride up was exciting. Then there are lots of steps to get further up the mountain. There are flat parts also. I'm a fit 58 year old male and I found I could cope but be prepared! The views from the top were well worth the exercise. I would happily do this again. See more..

   I once read a novel about Kumarajiva (a great Buddhist monk) and his life story, and know that Caotang Temple is the place where he translated the great Buddhist sutra. So I planned to visit this place. Caotang Temple is located at the foot of north Gui Peak of Hu County, Xian. It is famous for a historical celebrity Kumarajiva who translated Buddhist sutra into Chinese. The temple was said to be built in the East Jin Dynasty.    We were able to spend one day in Xi'an to visit the city and the Terra Cotta soldiers museum site. DingYi was there to pick us up at the train station and we spent a terrific day touring and learning about this former capital of China. DingYi was informative and made us feel very welcomed.    This is the best place for those for really love in nature. If you travel from XIAN it will take around 2 hours ride by a car. This is located in south part of the Xian. 45 kilometers from downtown of Xian city. Recommended to visit there in the morning. Because there are more steps to climb up if you don't want to take the cable car. They have facilities of cable car , slipping way , hanging cable way and boating facility for come down. Very beautiful mountain Range , spectacular views all along the way. Lovly waterfalls and different types of nature attractions. I recommend to climb up by cable car and descending by walk. Don't worry about food and water , there are more shops all around this place. See more..

    It is easy to access by pulic transit from Hu county. The admission is not expensive only RMB 25 for adult and half price for kids higher than 1.2m. Stone tablets are very attractive. The legend of the ancient tree revives after the master's tomb was restored from Chinese Culture Revolution is amazing. The expansion is under construction in the back during the visit.     My husband and I were on a 21-day tour. Part of tour included a home stay in the village. We stayed in the newer part of the village. The purpose was so that we would have a better understanding of the culture. Our group was split up so we could spend the night in a villager’s home. Language was definitely a challenge. The villagers spoke minimal English, but none of us spoke Mandarin. We all resorted to gestures and my Ipad Chinese/English dictionary to communicate. It took a lot longer, but it worked. We were fed very well and that evening we went to socialize in the square where everyone danced as a group to various types of music. The next day, we walked to a local artists’ studio. Wang Naillang painted pictures and also made pictures from straw. We purchased a peony straw picture and a painted panda picture (where both now proudly hang in our house in the U.S.) Then it was time for arts and crafts. His wife had us cut a red-folded tissue picture. The end result was supposed to be the Chinese word, “double happiness”. Mine came out in proportion while my husband’s came out a little “fat”. It was definitely an adventure. Afterwards, we walked to the older part of the village where some of it had been abandoned since residents usually moved to the new part when they could afford it. As a group, we were invited to walk into one of the older homes. It was occupied by an older Chinese woman who could have moved, but didn’t want to because this was her home. There were dirt floors with no evidence of electricity. The bed was a raised platform about 3 feet high made of bricks. Portions of the walls in some of the rooms wouldn’t keep the elements out. Frankly, my tent trailer has more amenities. After this village visit, I had a deeper appreciation of our living conditions in the United States! See more..

    阿姑泉位在西安市郊的秦嶺山腳，自古以來都是關中的賞牡丹勝地。
    阿姑泉的牡丹圃沿斜坡而設，牡丹頗為茂密，且因是自然環境，不是人工花園，故比洛陽更有山林野趣。
    粗眉仔到訪時，山腳的牡丹已敗，但上到地勢高處，氣溫相對低些，牡丹花容正茂，斜坡上一片花浪，美得令粗眉仔喘不過氣來。
    牡丹圃有專人守衛，防止有人太接近牡丹，傷到嬌嫩的花兒。
    建議近傍晚時參觀，因遊人不多，空氣靜謐清新，更易嗅到細細的牡丹甜香。 See more..
