-Excellent place to see how the ancients lived.
Wednesday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Historic Sites
This was the village my wife was born into before the government moved all the residents out to the modern Hancheng City. There are many good displays to walk around and see. A good opportunity to see how countryside people lived. It's mostly original and not modernized. The street are cobble type paving and you have to walk down a steep road. If you infirm at all I would not recommend. I found it very interesting. See more..

-The Heart of the Old Town
Wednesday: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM Ancient Ruins • Architectural Buildings
Modern Hancheng will not win any beauty prizes, but the town does have a number of historical monuments that are worth your time. Indeed, the town makes a good stopover between Xian and Pingyao, though few tourists seem to stop by at present. The best of these in the old city is the Confucian temple: a serene temple at the heart of the old town. The temple consists of four courtyards, all of them offering a bit of respite from the clamor of modern China. With its flagstone courtyards, fine collection of old statues and venerable wooden architecture, there is a lot to enjoy here. The pick of the courtyards is the first one, with its ancient cypress trees, half-moon pool and, best of all, a weathered wooden hall dating back to the Ying temples, making this a rare treat. -Dangjia village
Wednesday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Points of Interest & Landmarks • Architectural Buildings
The village is mainly composed of people with surnames Dang and Jia, about 320 families and over 1,400 persons. It is named Dang Village because people of surname Dang lived here earlier. It was built in 1331 and reached its prosperity period in the Ming and Qing Dynasties (1368-1911). Professor Charles of the Institute of Architects in Britain once said 'The oriental architectural culture lies in China, while Chinese traditional residential architectural culture lies in Hancheng.' Japanese Doctor Qingmu Zhengfu also praised Dang Village as the living fossil of the oriental people's traditional ancient village. Among the architectures, the Siheyuan (Courtyards) ranks first in popularity. See more..

-Glazed Tigers and Dragons
Points of Interest & Landmarks • Religious Sites
The entrance into this temple is through an alleyway decorated with a Ming-era screen depicting glazed dragons and tigers. Apart from this fine tile-work, the city temple offers a variety of halls and pavilions, some of them dating back to the Qing and Ming dynasties. It is a worthwhile stop on the way through Hancheng's old town, but it is much less impressive than the nearby Confucian complex. See more..

The stone carvings are amazing... The climb to the tomb itself is difficult and very step. My mum waited at the bottom at 85 way to hard. Would not be suitable for small kids either. The views where spectacular. The tomb itself very interesting. See more..

See more..
- 3.0 Weinan Yuxiu Bridge (1 review)
-Worth a Couple of Happy-Snaps
Wednesday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Bridges
Weinan Yuxiu is located on the southern outskirts of Hancheng. Dating to the early eighteenth century, this ten-arch 300-year-old stone bridge is an attractive relic from the Qing dynasty. With willows set picturesquely behind, it is quite photogenic. Having said that, you only need a few minutes here to take a couple of happy-snaps and then you are done. Fortunately, it is set on the way out to the Sima Qian ancestral hall, and so you can easily stop here on the way to that more substantial destination. See more..
