  1. 5.0 Garganta del Diablo (16.1k reviews)
    - Go on the Gran Aventura Boat Tour!!!
    Waterfalls
    Garganta del Diablo image
This wonder of nature permits the observation of one of the most unique landscapes in the World; constituted by the upper Iguazu River and the Subtropical Forest, which frame the incredible Devil's Throat balcony. Three ring-shaped balconies permit a special view of the colossal “throat”, the culmination of the journey: a giant horseshoe-shaped waterfall 150 meters / 492 feet long, and 80 meters / 262 feet high. Here the water falls with such potency that it creates dense clouds of vapor as it pours into the river below. From here you can experience such wonderful sensations, offering you amazing and unforgettable moments:- Just listening to the roar of the waterfalls - Feeling the vapor of waterfalls- Appreciating the rainbows that form amongst the clouds of water and rays of the sun - Admiring the contrasts of colors between the green forest and the blue sky, or the white color of the water foam and the red soil. - A separate spectacle is offered by the “vencejos” - birds unique to the Iguazu Falls that swoop down along the falls, as if they wanted to be confused with the curtains of water. This fabulous place is located 2080 m / 1 mile from the Devil's Station. You arrive by the Ecological Jungle Train, 5 km / 3miles from the Central Station. The Iguazu National Park Waterfalls Area has assorted activities. Along the upper and lower walkways you will be able to admire between 160 and 275 falls, the Devil's Throat being the most impressive one. See more..
  2. 5.0 Iguazu Falls (12.6k reviews)
    - Gorgeous and beautiful Iguazu Falls
Sunday: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM Spent More than 3 hours Waterfalls
    Iguazu Falls image
I was on Victoria falls. They are the highest. The only thing is that because of the splash cloud you can’t really see how water bumps the ground. I was on Niagara falls They don’t impress me at all. Because of the skyscrapers around them, they look like a broken pipe. For Iguazu falls I can find only one word- they are beautiful, gorgeous and beautiful. It’s not only the most beautiful fall I have ever seen it’s just one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. I would recommend to see them from both sides, Argentine and Brasilia. From Brasilia side they are more representative and there are astonishing panoramic views. On the Brasilia side you are taken to the falls by bus from the entrance for about 20 min. Bus goes every 15-20 min. You must get out of the bus at the stop before the last one and make a walk down the hill for about 1.5km Then you can take a lift and find yourself at the last stop of the bus. There you can take it to the entrance or if you are in love with falls and have time you can get out next stop and repeat the trip (again down the hill). If you are the first one in the morning you can let all the crowd go ahead of you and make this trip alone, only you and falls. Practically same procedure on the Argentine side, instead of the bus there is a train. IF you are short of time take only Low path. It’s possible to see the best of the falls from both sides in one day. If you don’t have enough time I would recommend the Brasilia side. There is a boat trip on both sides. Same trip. It’s better to take it from Brasilia side because there are lifts, in Argentine you have to climb yourself . It’s not a sightseeing tour. IT’s about getting under the falls, being hit by it (rather hard and I found it not scary but unpleasant, I am a woman of 64) and got completely wet, absolutely. See more..
  3. 5.0 Parque Nacional Iguazu (4.619 reviews)
    - Fabuloso
Sunday: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM Spent More than 3 hours National Parks
    Parque Nacional Iguazu image
We went with my partner and my two children (5 and 7), I recommend doing the tours in two days, especially if you are going to do the Macuco trail (very long). The weather is important if you go on a very hot day, you will not have a good time and the gnats will bite you (bring repellent) The meals inside the park were not expensive for me (empandas 2 U$S, salads 7 U$S, soft drinks 2 U$S) You can also take your own food and eat in the authorized places. 5. 4.5 Puerto Iguazu (6.459 reviews)
    - Amazing experience
    Neighborhoods
    Puerto Iguazu image
If you are not a South American citizen the price is double and that hit me negatively, not for the money but for the separation as it makes you feel weird especially in my case that the rest of the family, ( my wife and in-laws) are Argentinians. But apart from that, the park is super clean the staff is very attentive and you can feel their passion for the wild life and the conservations of the park. We took the boat safari as well but I found that it was to expensive for the service it provided ( 3000 AR$) - ( 50ish euro) per person. But got an experience to remember :) See more..
  6. 4.5 Monumento Historico Nacional a la Bandera (4.999 reviews)
    - Awesome Monument to The National Flag
    Monuments & Statues
Monumento Historico Nacional a la Bandera image
Back in February of 1872 the national flag of Argentina, designed by Belgrano was raised here. Today this massively monument, which by the way you can see on the 10 Peso note, stands as a significant symbol for the Argentinian people. It is one massive tower, which can be entered and an elevator takes one to the top. Off to the west side the monument continues where you will find the Eternal Flame. Located on the banks of this massive river where large sea-going bulk carriers ply, you will see the monument, and the very Tall Flag Pole... minus its Flag the days we visited. See more..

    - Great way to see the Wildlife and Support some Good work
Spent 1-2 hours Nature & Wildlife Areas
    Guiraoga image
Wasn't expecting much before visiting as all the advertisements in the hotels are for the Bird Park in Foz de Iguazu in Brazil. Guira Oga pleasantly surprised us and was great to see some of the wildlife that would be hard to spot most of the time. This is NOT a Zoo , but a rehabilitation center for the animals which have been bred in captivity and will be released in the wild once they are ready hanks to the conservation efforts by the people who work here. So your entrance fee of 400 ARS goes towards this cause. From the entrance, a tractor takes you to the start of the walk which is about 10 minutes away. You get to see beautiful parrots , Tucans, Eagles, Vultures etc. In addition several animals including crocodiles and leopards. A great place to spend a few hours in Puerto Iguazu after you hectic day at the Falls. See more..

    Parque Nacional El Palmar image
A unique park along the shore of the Uruguay River. The roads are paved, and also are dirt roads but well maintained. Any car can negotiate the dirt roads. Its exhibit thousands of samples of a local specie of palm threes. I has a sandy beach that would be a stop during the hot months, and many trails. Plenty of local fauna. Best time to see deer and jaguars is at sunrise. The Tapirs, local fauna, a giant rodent, can be seen all day long. Many species of birds. The park is well maintained, an the flora is unique. - Grand!!!
    Parks
Parque Nacional a la Bandera image
I have been here many a times and it never ceases to amaze me. It is a park but also a gigantic monument to the national flag; a huge construction/building/statue, one that you can walk on and walk/ride to the top of the main tower and have a fantastic view of the city and the river. It has significance and presence, it is an impressive building and it is unique in the world in size and design as a monument just to commemorate the national flag. also a great location near the river. - One Very Long Green Space and x - Parques
    Parks
    Parque de Espana image
This specific Parque is at what we might refer to as the upper end of the long Green Space that fronts the Paranna River. The other Or downriver portion would be the Parque Nacional a la Bandera. It is a fantastic piece of workmanship that is dotted with huge trees several gym type buildings, etc. The river portion has a large walking space, portion of which is grated so you can see the River below. Today there were a lot of folk enjoying a picnic. In addition the large railing was lined with fishermen, attempting to catch the white fish that were breaching. The river seemed to be in full flood, very brown in color and being used today by not only ocean going ships but wind surfers and sailing boats of varying size. See more..

    Palacio San Jose image
Going there is like taking a trip back in time. The rooms, furniture and appliances of the time are so well preserved and so placed in their natural positions and places, that you can almost see Gral. Urquiza, his family, friends and servants going about their business and daily routines around this beautiful palace that has more the air of a magnificent Estancia. You can also imagine his foes breaking in, as even his blood is preserved on a door that he grabbed as he was being murdered. Photographs of the time, family trees, and lots of information is conveniently placed, as well as a video and guided tours allow the the visitors to vividly imagine the habits and way of life of that time. The museum staff really enjoy talking about the history of the place. I highly recommend it. See more..

  25. 4.5 Esteros de Ibera (471 reviews)
    - A piece of paradise
    Points of Interest & Landmarks
    Esteros de Ibera image
I visited Esteros deal Iberá from Colonia Carlos Pellegrini after reading about this relatively undiscovered corner of Argentina. It's their equivalent of the Pantanal in Brazil and the wildlife is similar. Capybaras graze next to the enormous Iberá lake and black caiman laze in the sun. There are deer, foxes, monkeys and countless birds making the area suburb for wildlife spotting. The sleepy town easily lulls you into a slower pace of life. The sandy roads allow a gentle stroll around the village with few cars. Horses graze on the verges and dogs happily greet you on each corner. It's not easy to get to but here's my experience arriving from Puerto Iguazu. 1. Night bus from P. Iguazu to Corrientes - 9 hours 2. Bus from Corrientes to Mercedes (Corrientes) same day - 3.5 hours. Note: There is a Mercedes in the Buenos Aires district so don't confuse them. 3. Overnight in Mercedes. I stayed in El Gauchito hotel. Basic but cheap at 300 pesos for a private room. No food. 4. Minibus to Carlos Pellegrini leaving at 08:30 from outside the bus station. Ask at the bus station tourist office for Daniel. He's very friendly and totally reliable. 300 pesos each way. 3 hours. Although it's out of the way, it's well worth a trip to get away from the crowds (I went in early August) and feels like you're discovering one of Argentina's best kept secrets. See more..
