For 2 lei this is definitely a must do. The entrance is up some stairs at the bottom of the Council building (under the white arches). You pay and then climb up a few flights of stairs which aren’t too steep and are fairly wide compared to many other towers. At the top, you get a great panorama for the price and, although it’s enclosed so your photos might not be as good, it’s amazing value for the price. If you can time it for golden hour, then you’re in for a treat. See more..

I live in Baia Mare and the tower is one of the first memory of an historical monument i ve seen . Since then i ve traveled a lot but the Stephan tower is still one of my favorite place. The tower is like an emblema for the city,sourounded by a park and an outdoor museum recently developed by the historians,an old church and an ortodox church ,filled with old trees and a bell s expo it s just the one place you must see if you are in Baia Mare.
