4.5Catedral da Se de Sao Paulo(7.974 reviews) - Beautiful place Saturday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Churches & Cathedrals
We arrived for the Sunday service. The church is beautiful, elegant and spacious. Although I don’t understand Portuguese, I could follow the service and join in. Music was beautiful and s provided by a small ensemble. The crypt is stunning as well, though talk given is in Portugese with no accompanying English notes.See more..
5.0National Sanctuary of Our Lady of Aparecida(4.933 reviews) - For Catholics and Non-Catholics Saturday: 5:00 AM - 12:00 AM Spent < 1 hour Religious Sites • Churches & Cathedrals
This cathedral plays an important role in the history of Brazil, because Brazil is (still) the biggest Catholic community on earth. Since three fishermen found the small statue of "Nossa Senhora da Aparecida" in 1717, the village developed into a big Center of pilgrimage. Today 8 million people visit the sanctuary every year. The new cathedral is the second largest Catholic Church on earth and was officially inaugurated 1980 by Pope John Paul II. Everything is organised perfectly - From the huge parking lots, over the information points, the queuing in front of the statue of Our Lady up to the several other chapels, where you can either pray, give your promises or light your candle. Fortunately we had no queue, and the situation there was impressive. The light inside the cathedral is beautiful, cause of the big colourful glass windows. Even Non Catholics will be impressed.See more..

4.5Temple of Solomon(1.693 reviews) - Fantastic, awesome, breathtaking Saturday: 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Speciality Museums • Religious Sites • Churches & Cathedrals
The Temple of Solomon, which the Eternal One saw as His own house, was a link between man and the Lord God, a place where a chosen people would worship the Lord wholeheartedly. No other building on earth has ever held more importance than this, specifically because of its spiritual meaning. While lifting up and exalting the name of the Most High among all nations, the Temple also ignited faith in God's people, creating awareness of submission, respect for what was holy, and fear. Through this, all began to acknowledge the greatness of the God of Israel. Today, the Temple of Solomon in Sao Paulo aspires to the same goals as the previous one. Awaken people's Faith in the Living God. The Temple embraces people of many beliefs and cultures, to attend the meetings you must follow a rule list of security and behavior. Also the Temple has a guided tour available every hour, this visitation requires a fee of $ 25 BRL and it's available from 9am until 6pm. You'll have access to the Biblical Garden (Real Size replica of the Tabernacle of Moses, Memorial of the Temples in Jerusalem and the Centenary Olive Tree Garden). Please, book your visit for the guided tour via email.See more..

I was looking for the main road in the hotel area where I was told I could find some stores and so on then I passed by the church. It looks small but it´s nice in its simplicity. Unfortunently, I did not get inside. Noice that the mains road, Dom Pedro II , is on a higher area of the city so prepare yourself to walk up a bit.See more..

One of our exchange students from Campinas (we've had 4) got married in this church four years ago and very sadly, we could not attend, but we saw the films and wished we could have been there. On this visit, we DID go to Sunday evening Mass there arid were really overwhelmed with the beauty and history of the place. The Mass was wonderful and full of great music and a very enthusiastic and large crowd to sing along. A moving experience for us on this, our fifth, trip to the area.See more..

If you go do Brodowski to visit Cândido Portinari’s house-museum, do not miss this church in the near vicinity, in the city of Batatais. All of the church’s paintings are Portinari’s, these are the best sacred paintings of this great master. At the side of the church a younger artist paid a tribute to Portinari, in an interesting sculpture.See more..

4.5Sao Sebastiao Cathedral(117 reviews) - Not Your Typical Looking Church Churches & Cathedrals
St Sebastien Metropolitan Church is named after the patron Saint of Rio and is the seat of the archbishop of the city. The architecture of the Church, located in the city centre, was inspired by the Mayan pyramids of Mexico. The inside is quite impressive with four beautiful floor to ceiling stain glassed windows. It is very spacious and open church. The free standing bell tower is also quite unique in appearance. I really loved the statue of St Francis of Assisi silhouetted against the sunlight streaming into the church. This church was worth a visit to witness its uniqueness and to compare it to the many other distinctive churches in Brazil.See more..
