Narragansett Town Beach is just that-a town beach.Residents pay a fee for parking and for entrance passes.Parking in South, North and Cabana lots is limited to residents. The Cabana lots is limited to Cabana lessors. The West lot (across from the beach) is available to non-residents at $10 weekdays and $15 weekends.) There is a $12 per person entrance fee. If you are renting a house ask the owner to provide beach entrance passes. Parking on many streets is limited to 2 hrs.or by resident permit only. Enforcement has been stepped due to complaints by residents. A much less expensive alternative is either the State beach at Scarborough or at Sand Hill Cove which is ideal for small children.

Crowds, price and parking issues worth it to see this surfing beach
the good: never seen surfing activity at beach on East Coast like this one. Wave action is for real. Swimming at this beach was a blast. the bad: Parking is challenge. I knew to get there early for free spot but didnt. I'd shoot to arrive before 10 am. I ended up parking in town about 15 min away after dropping off the fam. I carefully picked a spot where was allowed. They do charge $12 per person to get on the beach. The day we were there it was very crowded. if you want to experience a beach with serious waves, check it out.
