    - One day walk about Newport

    Cliff Walk image
Located near the back lawn of The Breakers and other historic mansions like Rough Point, this scenic 3.5-mile walk along Newport's coastline connects the western end of Easton Beach to the eastern end of Bailey’s Beach. Stroll along the Cliff Walk to spot a variety of wildflowers and birds, and enjoy commanding views of Narragansett Bay.It’s mostly an easy walk, but watch out for the southern section, which can get slightly tricky along the rocky shore. Newport gets especially busy during summer weekends—plan your visit during spring or fall, or on weekdays for fewer crowds. – Tripadvisor See more..

  3. 4.5 Clayhead Nature Trail (56 reviews)
    - Shhhhh best beach on the Island

    Clayhead Nature Trail image
Tell no one. At the end of a pleasant 1/2 mile walk through some lovely woods is a gorgeous, semi-deserted beach. Sandy not rocky, cool but not cold, waves but not life- threatening... Strap on a beach chair, bring your dog and a soft cooler (and be nice and take your trash out with you when done) and feel like you are in on an awesome secret. It's a great place for rock collecting....though hauling them out is a bit of a schlep. See more..

We've lived in Johnston for 19 years now, we really like going to the park. It's clean, well maintained, it has a beautiful walking oath, it also is stocked every spring for opening day fishing, plus throughout the year there are various activities scheduled, including an apple festival in the fall, not to mention baseball games, basketball and tennis courts, etc See more..

Explore the many easy-to-walk loops of Osamequin Nature Preserve in any season to discover the wetlands and coastal beauty of Rhode Island. Owned by the Town of Barrington and managed jointly by the Barrington Land Conservation Trust and the Barrington Garden Club, the trail system have been newly revamped. Don't miss the viewing platform for a bride eye view to the wetlands. In spring and summer seasons, ospreys can easily be seen nesting on a large platform just offshore. Bald eagles might be seen fishing along the shoreline in winter months. This is a local treasure open to all. See more..

  11. 5.0 Spruce Acres Farm Trail (1 review)
    - Beautiful, well-maintained trails

    Spruce Acres Farm Trail image
Had a fantastic time cross-country skiing the trails at Spruce Acres. The trees along the trail are beautiful, especially when covered in snow. We felt as though we were in the mountains, surrounded by tall pines and bushy berry shrubs. Our whole group, ranging in age from 6 to 69, successfully skied through the trails. The trails are wide, well-maintained and clearly marked. We had plenty of places to stop and rest on the benches placed around the trail system. There are also several picnic tables near the trailhead. The small farm buildings are charming and a pleasant reminder of the Christmas tree farm that used to operate here. Will definitely be returning. See more..
