St. Mary’s Church in Newport, R.I. was the setting for the wedding of Jacqueline Lee Bouvier and then-Senator John Fitzgerald Kennedy, on September 12, 1953. The beautiful and historic church is home to Rhode Island’s oldest Catholic parish, which was established in 1828. Saint Mary’s, designed in the Gothic Revival style by renowned Irish-born architect, Patrick C. Keely, was dedicated in 1852 to “The Holy Name of Mary, Our Lady of the Isle,” and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2008. The church is open for prayer and visitation most days during the 2022 summer: Monday – Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Visit the website for further information.See more..

5.0St Mary's Episcopal Church(3 reviews) - History and Friendliness Saturday: 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Churches & Cathedrals When I attended the 10:00 Service this past July 21st, I was very impressed by the Clergy, the Setting and the Service itself... Held in the (new) Great Hall building on the hill just above the Original Church due to the 98 degree temps that morning, I felt welcomed and cool! But, the liturgy was "warm" and inviting to all to participate. I will be going back when I visit my son and Family.See more..

The shrine and parish were started just four months after St. Thérèse was beatified, and for nearly 100 years, this place has been a rural oasis of prayer, pilgrimage, and community. Today, the Church and Shrine are a mission of Our Lady of Good Help parish.See more..
