Great museum

A wonderful museum of hand craft painted eggs, a unique one on whole teritory of Romania. What it is great in this museum with over 11000 eggs, not all exposed but all worked in different type of hand craft. The main atraction, the eggs worked by the owner Letitia Orsivschi but also the eggs from all over the world, worked by different artists in different styles. It is really a joy for the eyes. I recommend if you come and visit Bucovina do not miss it this great place!!!

    80000+ eggs on display.
A private collection in a private museum in a small village in Bucovina ... pretty boring isn't it? Well I can assure you that this is an experience well worth it. The Egg museum of Vama is one of the most interesting places I've see in Bucovina - as the name says what you will see are eggs - or egg shaped artefacts and artistic expression from more than 60 countries of the world - but with a generous portion dedicated to the traditional art, of decorating eastern eggs, from the Region of Bucovina. Indeed it is a great collection and a great deal of work of putting together - there are more then 10 rooms with displays loaded with eggs - in all colors, all sizes (from ostrich eggs , to Colibri bird eggs , through turtle egg , etc. ) and from countries like Kenya , Jamaica, India , just to mention a few.... It would be an excellent experience for everybody who is visiting - for us it was a very good one and is worth the money of visiting. PS: if you wonder why not the perfect score ? there are 2 things : first, in times of pandemics the owner and the personnel were totally ignoring all the rules and recommendations (good thing the place was not crowded when we were siting) and the second thing the souvenirs, are from my perspective too expensive. So if you are in the area I recommend that you go and see for yourself this place, its not an every day experience I can assure you .. however keep in mind why I did not gave the place the perfect score.

Great place and very nice people
My husband and I visited the museum just because it was a rainy day and there were not many things to do that day. Boy were we lucky it rained otherwise we would have missed such an amazing collection. If you are in the are I highly recommend visiting this place. The entrance fee is 10 lei and you also get an audio guide. Photo fee is also 10 lei but it's worth every penny.
