What a find in Groningen (Art) Museum. Their temporary exhibition on ‘Colour’ was well curated and imaginative. And housed in Alessandro Mendini’s amazing post modern exhibition space extending below the water line. First time I’ve come across the early 20th C artistic collective called De Ploeg based in Groningen - loved their work. Spent a well worth couple of hours loitering there.See more..

This museum tells the history of Appingedam and surroundings. There's a few style rooms, a medieval basement, and all kinds of historic items. Nothing really spectacular, but still I found the total quite appealing, probably because of the setting in an old house with two basements and about 4 attics. The movies about different aspects of the town's history are also quite interesting. Besides history, there is also a temporary exhibition. When I visited, this was about animals in art, with some quite good paintings and some sculptures too.See more..

This eye catching structure near a lake (Hoornsemeer) is designed by John Hejduk in the 1970s. It was built in 2001, one year after Hejduk's death. The house consists of three curved segments in different colors vertically placed against a wall, at its rear supported by a kind of rectangular shaped element. From afar it looks a bit like a huge cubist painting. The Wall House at Hoornsemeer is 4 km south of the city of Groningen. It is part of the Groninger museum.See more..

We visited the museum of Henk Helmantel and we had the privilege to meet him in person. A very nice professional painter who took time to talk to us. His work is like beautiful old still live paintings. Very amazing. Over the years Henk has had exhibits in Taiwan, the USA, Germany, CZech Republic, Malaisya, England, France and Indonesia besides Holland of course. Loads of people come visit his museum, it was very busy. If you are in Holland in the region of Groningen this work is a must see!See more..

Bricksart. Eigenlijk is het gewoon spelen met Lego alleen staat die naam niet op de noppenblokjes. Kijk wat kunstenaars en hobbyisten gemaakt hebben. Zie je kinderen genieten van 13.000 kilo kleurige blokjes. Bouw iets bewonderingswaardig en verdien een plek op de museumwand. Ga op speurtocht. Gevestigd in een oude remise aan de rand van Nederland is dit de mogelijkheid om je creativiteit de vrije loop te laten.See more..
