Wonderful islands, beaches, excursions and views!

Islas Cíes are located in the Western part of Galicia Region, near Vigo, the main city of this region, in the North of Spain. We came here to spend all day and try to do all excursions, we could in the island and really it was lovely! Wonderful views, amazing beaches, very nice hikes, etc. We could see three lighthouses (Cíes, Porta and Peiró), also we could see two beaches (Nosa Señora and Rodas, this last one wonderful), some bird viewpoints or little mountains, from where we could see very nice views. Really, an amazing full day: walks, views, beaches, lighthouses and a pic-nic with local wine! Top in the region!     Reserve in advance!
    This place is a must!! Beautiful, highlight of our Galicia trip! You must reserve in advance if it is summer, I booked the tickets 2 months in advance. First, you must apply for a permission at the website of Xunta de Galicia because they only let in 1800 people per day. So you have to choose a day, you cannot decide spontaneously. Yes, you have to hope that the day you chose has good weather otherwise you will have to go to the beach under rain... Then, you will receive a code per e-mail and you use it to book the ferry tickets. It can be any ferry operator, there are many so you can do your research and choose the one which fits you the best. Then, keep both confirmation emails (from the Galician Xunta and from the ferry) and get your ferry tickets before departure at the harbour. The island is amazing, you can camp there, there is camping place or you bring your own tent. You can also go and come back on the same day. A lot to see, beautiful lagoon and beaches. Recommend Nossa Senhora beach. Next time, I will sleep at the camping.

    Wonderful experience!
    That day was really wonderful, the "Islas Cíes" are really a paradise and you must definitely go there at least once in your life! At the beginning the tour was a bit caotic because our guide joined us in Vigo and when we arrived, he wasn't there. But then everything worked well. Pablo (the guide) was very friendly and explained everything very well. I really liked his tour on the islands (nice small group) and also the freetime afterwards. Thumbs up!
