I stopped here to break my journey and I was glad that I did. I parked in the car park off the main road, but I believe it is possible to drive up there if you want to avoid a bit of a steep 150m walk. There is discount for seniors and there are acres of immaculately maintained gardens to visit in addition to the castle. The castle, which dates from the 12th century is well maintained and once inside there is a tour route to follow, which informs you of the castle's history. Each room has detailed information in Spanish and English, and the majority have a video, for which you can select your language, with more information. The views from the top are interesting. There are stairs to climb and no elevators that I saw, so people with mobility problems would be severely restricted. See more..
