Wonderful space to be walking for days
The old town of Pontevedra has so many monuments, squares, restaurants and shops that it takes several days to cover it It is one of the best preserved historical centers in all of Galicia. It is also declared a Historic-Artistic Site, and is undoubtedly the stone witness of the medieval splendor that the city lived through. Here, the cliché is made that the best way to discover a place is by walking through its streets, squares and most emblematic places and immersing yourself fully in its culture, and also in its history. I recommend staying in a central hotel and going out every day for breakfast or dinner in one of its many places, especially when the weather is good. Do not forget to visit the central market where you can see, taste and buy any product from Galicia

Very interesting and beautiful old town
The historic center is one of the most beautiful and best preserved in Galicia. Its historic complex is magical, consists of a cluster of narrow streets. There are many squares and interesting churches. Among them is Plaza de la Herrería, a place much frequented by the people of Pontevedra. This plaza, surrounded by gardens, is located in front of the San Francisco Monastery. In the heart of the city there are also Plaza de la Peregrina and Plaza de la Verdura. In Pontevedra, these are traditional places, always full of people of all ages. The historic center it is also the ruins of the former Santo Domingo monastery, the Basilica de Santa Maria , the Peregrina Church and picturesque streets , among many other interesting things. Of course, in addition to all the monuments, the area is full of bars and restaurants where you can enjoy excellent cuisine. Walking through the quiet streets of the well-kept historic center is very pleasant.

Beautiful architecture and outdoor concert
This was the last town of our ten day trip. It’s small streets for pedestrians only led from one small gem to the next. Two beautiful churches stand around a square where people came out in the evening at 9:00 pm to eat, to stroll and to enjoy this very special place. Lunch can be found until 2 but places close between 3 and 7-8 pm.
