Enjoyed this place as part of crossing the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Pass

This dam is pretty impressive, especially at the time from July when they open it partially and you can see tons of water flowing through the dam walls. We passed the dam as part of crossing the Alpine Pass and I guess that 95% or more of people visiting this attraction will do the same. They've also got some nice exhibitions showing with how much efforts the dam was built. Prepare to stay 1 to 2 hours.

    BEAUTY OF NATURE
    I visited Kurobe Dam summer of last year and it was perfect! You need to take the special tram to get you there, but it's well worth it. There are lots of things to see so make sure to wear comfortable shoes. There are restaurants nearby that sells ramen, beef bowl, and even ice cream.

    beautiful
    the scenic view was honestly gorgeous to say the very least. we visited in early october so we were there just when the leaves were starting to turn brown and orange, making the view even more impressive. it is fairly crowded and a very touristy spot but is a worthwhile trip nonetheless.
