New Kusanagi Sword Museum open!

I went to Atsuta-jingu Shrine in December. Many people were there because of end of the year soon. Atsuta-jingu Shrine has a big news recently. New museum and another facility opened recently this year,2021. One of them is Kusanagi Square(Kusanagi Hiroba). There is a shop of famous Kishimen restaurant(noodle shop of famous Nagoya's noodle). And other of them is Kusanagi Museum(Legend Sword Museum) Kusanagi Sword is known for Ama no Murakumo no Tsurugi. Kusanagi Sword is one of three kinds of sacred treasures. Atsuta-jingu Shrine is enshrined the Ama no Murakumo no Tsurugi (Sword). So the name of Kusanagi Museum comes from its story.

    Calm and peaceful
A beautiful shrine set in splendid nature that is very well-maintained. Enjoyed the serene surroundings as I strolled through the forested path to the shrine. There's a peaceful walking trail around the main shrine where people can enjoy the nature at its best.

    Too Modern Looking
If you spend a long time in Japan, pretty soon all the shrines and temples begin to blur. Sadly most of them are rebuilds on their originals since they were lost to World War 2 or fires that ravaged the empire (very sad). While some shrines have done a good job at creating a sense of history, some have failed, and sadly this one fails. It is definitely one of the more important shrines in all of Japan, but it looks very modern or contemporary. The grounds are massive and quite honestly nothing breath taking. Save you time and visit some of the other shrines.
