    What A Treasure!!
Built between 1902 and 1930 by a contemporary of Gaudi, architect Louis Domenech I Montaner, created an amazing open space, with gorgeous free standing buildings that were set in a magnificent garden setting. The purpose? This amazing UNESCO World Heritage site was a hospital for the poor. With some of the most beautiful architecture we've ever seen, we can only imagine the therapeutic benefits of sitting in the magnificent garden complex, and drinking in the fragrance of lavender and orange. If you love history and stunning architecture, this site is not to be missed. What a treasure! *HIGHLY* recommended.

    Well worth a visit
I was on a mission to see as many UNESCO World heritage sites as I possibly could in Barcelona, so Sant Pau was on the list! After a walk down from Parc Guell (thirty minutes downhill thankfully) we arrived outside. I had initially decided to just take photo's outside but my daughter persuaded me to go in, as we had an hour before our booked slot at Sagrada Familia (just a 10 minute walk away). SO glad we did go in! Outside was sublime, but the interiors and the buildings that couldn't be seen from the road were even more amazing. It cost about 27 euro's to get in - my daughter being under 29 got a 30% discount on entry. It was a fascinating insight into Catalan modernism, giving my daughter idea's for her A-Level art project! The tiling, the curved ceilings and windows, the recreation of the Hospital ward, it really brought everything to life. I wish I'd had more time to read up on all the information that was available in English, and learn more about this amazing place. The real highlight was eating our packed lunch in the courtyard area. It was quite stunning, beautiful buildings in every direction, orange trees etc. I actually didn't want to leave. Toilets were available as you entered and also at this point in the proceedings too. Such a photogenic place, and well worth a visit.
