    The buildings were amazing
Besides the famous “Block of Discord” with the Gaudi building, many of these buildings from the same period were often fanciful and over-the-top. If you chose to look above the street level shops, the buildings gave you a picture of a time at the turn of the 19th century when this area must have been THE place to live. I loved strolling this section of the city.

    Architecture, Shopping and Dining
Lovely avenue in the heart of Barcelona. It is lined with boutiques, high-end international retailers, restaurants, cafes and very attractive classic buildings, including several Gaudi designed masterpieces. I recommend heading down some of the quieter side streets as well as the tree-lined street that runs parallel (Rambla de Catalunya) for additional shops, great architecture and pedestrian paths with benches to sit and relax.
