   It’s a long drive from Hoi An but worth a visit. We had watched a documentary the night before about the massacre and learned even more details from the museum. The US army going back a year later to attempt to destroy all evidence of the massacre was shocking proof of their guilt and cover up. Take the time to read the visitor’s comments in the binder by the main entrance. I wish there were translations of the Vietnamese comments.    This was the second time I have been to Ly Son island. The first time was 4 years ago and I like the island so much that I decided to come back as I knew I had made the right decision. The island was still beautiful and even cleaner and more organised. The food was delicious and the weather was wonderful. We visited Cong Thach To Vo to see the sunset, which was marvelous. We went to see Hang Cau and Hang Pagoda and had a good time there. We also got on a boat to the small island which is about 10 minute ride. The island is called An Binh and spent a day and a night there. The island was peaceful with beautiful frescoes on the wall of the islanders. The beach was wonderful with waves and sand which made us excited. We stayed in Alabin homestay which was cosy and comfortable. The whole family took care of us. They were friendly and cooked us delicious meals. All in all, I was very satisfied with my visit to Ly Son island. See more..

   The site is really well done, even though it is disturbing. The memorial is tastefully done, with paths throughout the area where one can contemplate and pray. We visited on the 49th anniversary. The day was hot and sunny, just like the day of the massacre. The big difference was, we were able to walk away. Both my husband and I were truly moved by this memorial - more than in any other we visited in Vietnam. As I write this one month later, it still is with me. Images we saw in the museum and around the site were so graphic. Such a tragic waste of life, such a poor decision on the part of those who took part, such an evil to try to cover up. This event is one that should never be forgotten - it is important that the dead are remembered. The physical area has recovered. There are again rice fields and people living their lives; laughing and spending their time with families. What hit home most from our visit here and throughout Vietnam, is the importance everyone here has for family. See more..

   we were traveling in September 2016! in the low, no one come except us on the desert beach. It is the most amazing feelings alike a mordern Robinson on the beach! In order to come here, you need to get to Quang Ngai city, Sa Huynh beach stay away about 80km from the center of Quang Ngai. You should take the Mai Linh bus from station to Sa Huynh with cost of more than a half of dollars! There are not many hotels qualified here, but you could enjoy at Sa Huynh resort or just reserve a hostel, mostel near the beach with cost of 10-15$/ night. See more..
