After researching online we decided to book a coffee tour with CHD Travel which included pick up from Nha Trang, 2 nights in a hotel in Buon Ma Thuot and transfer to Dalat with stops at Lak Lake etc. Booking the tour was very straightforward and we were picked up from our Nha Trang hotel right on time. We were very fortunate to have Ha as our guide for the duration of this trip; his English was excellent and this allowed him to pass on his deep knowledge of the coffee industry together with general chat on more mundane and 'day to day' issues which we both found fascinating. We also found Ha to be very flexible so we could stop longer at places we really enjoyed and he took us to local restaurants that served dishes that we mentioned we really liked. In conclusion if you are heading to the Central Highlands we would have no hesitation in recommending CHD Travel (who are based Buon Ma Thuot) to plan your itinerary. Booked a 7 days trip without hotels for 6 adults from Buon Ma Thuot, Pleiku, Kontum and Qui Nhon. Pickup from BMT and ended in Qui Nhon including airport transfers I contacted Mr Vu via texting or WhatAps while planning for the trip and he responded right away and made the itinerary accordingly. They show up before we landed, Mr Vu even called the hotel to get the room ready for us when we arrived. During the trip we modified the original itinerary a few times and Mr Vu and the driver Mr Ho were gladly did it for us We had a fun trip with both of them, they told us numerous funny stories which made the trip fun, fast and memorable Mr Vu spoke English very well If we have a chance to come back to BMT we would contact Mr Vu again or would recommend to anyone. I had a great time getting to know him ! I couldn't take the ride as I didn't have enough time. But he agreed to meet with me for coffee at a very short notice and talked for couple of hours about the area and Vietnamese culture. He is very friendly and can converse well in English. He also have me excellent suggestions on where to go in the city and also where to buy cheap and good coffee ! I am definitely taking his tour next time I am in town. It is a speakeasy bar humbly located in Vo Trung Thanh street, a bit hard to realize, but surely a good hard :) You will feel at ease and safe in this homey place where you can indulge yourself in the variety of classic cocktail made by a really enthusiastic bartender, with an unbelievably affordable price. I suggest to visit in the afternoon for better photoshoot. 10 minutes walk during the site to visit both Dray Nur and Dray Sap and wow with the beauty of Mother Nature. My wife and I decided to visit Buon Ma Thuot with the plan of sightseeing by ourselves however upon recommendation of our hotel we found Mr. Chinh through Happy Tours. We called and he immediately came to the hotel to explain the itinerary to us and that we would be able to leave the next day (in English). The next day he was very prompt and the transport was very clean and comfortable. Mr. Chinh took us to a local coffee shop, a waterfall (with a small hike and exploring), 2 local villages and a cafe on Lak Lake for lunch followed by an elephant interaction. On the way back we visited a rubber plantation and another coffee shop. Mr. Chinh was very knowledgeable and was very enthusiastic to share the history of Vietnam with us, which was very interesting. This felt like a very authentic 'off the beaten track' type tour and glad we found him to see some Vietnamese country side - This is a must do in BMT! See more..

I spent a few hours here, but could have stayed longer but was tired from traveling. Nice stop for some cool pictures. Good for couples and there were some young people taking wedding pictures here. I did not pay the entrance fee, but believe it was pretty inexpensive. It was just so nice to walk through and is not a hard walk for most people. People with disabilities may have some difficulty getting up and down on some of the sloping paths. Very clean and I enjoyed my afternoon there very much. See more..

The Dakbla River is just one of many in Vietnam but one pleasing aspect of this river is the traditional ethnic name that the Viets have allowed it to retain. The Vietnam Central Highlands are a bastion of the ethnic hill tribes who had long ago claimed these lands. Like much of the rivers that flow from the mountainous highlands in the Himalayas that pass thru the mainland nations of SE Asia, the Dakbla River is the typical brown colour due to so much silt being washed away downriver. It runs thru the outskirts of Kontum near most of the hotels & has several small riverside café’s that serve Vietnamese filtered coffee & ice cream. Just in front of these café’s there is a promenade with a paved path & lamps which make for a nice night stroll, you will find young people here doing what young people from anywhere do, trying to get to know one another. The promenade sits on a raised river bank so the views of the snaking river below & mountains in the background make nice things to stare at while drinking coffee & chatting up young girls. The riverside spot was also popular for American & South Vietnamese veterans of the war who’s business these cafes catered to.
