This was my third time on Wild Bill's Airboat Ride, but the first time for my girlfriend visiting from State College, PA. She was very apprehensive about riding on an airboat. She was afraid an alligator would jump in the airboat; the airboat would flip, or she would fall in the water. She admitted she watched too many TV shows about airboats. Captain Steve was wonderful. He handled all the passengers with respect and alleviated my friend's fear of being on an airboat. One of the favorite parts of the ride was Captain Steve guiding the airboat sideways while moving the airboat forward at the same time. Captain Steve was knowledgeable about the wildlife, the surrounding area and the river. This is a must-do experience when visiting Inverness.See more..
Love this little park! Was excited to see my first gators in person during this trip. Many varieties of birds out on the lake. Different sizes of the cooter turtle too. See more..
We were walking around the town of Inverness and saw the Old Court House Museum. The museum was very informative about a variety of subjects including displays of Elvis’s making a movie in the court house to archeological exhibits. There was a lot of displays and information. I would recommend over an hour to take it all in. In addition to the exhibits the building itself was very interesting.See more..

What a gem of a park! This is a wonderful place to spend the day, there is so much space and activity options. This park is CLEAN!! The bathrooms, playgrounds, walking trails, all very clean and taken care of. I have been many times over the past few months (various times of day) and have not noticed any of the local vagrants loitering in the park, trashing things, looking for handouts. The staff do a wonderful job maintaining a great, family atmosphere in this park!See more..

4.5Liberty Park(11 reviews) - Lovely afternoon for a picnic. Friday: 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Parks
We found this park by accident after walking through Inverness. There was plenty of places to sit and enjoy our picnic. People were so friendly and kept stopping for a chat. They could not understand why English people were there, as Inverness is not a tourist area. The water was very clear and we saw many turtles and fish. The boardwalk was very well maintained and obviously a pleasant place for the locals.See more..

4.5Holder Mine Recreation Area(4 reviews) - Excellent hiking trails! Spent More than 3 hours Nature & Wildlife Areas • Hiking Trails
The trailhead is pretty much a parking area and a kiosk with maps. Nothing else needed once you are hiking on these beautiful trails. My bff Buc and I decided to hike the "A Loop" because it's a trail on the Florida Trailwalker list. Mapped as 6.70 miles but felt longer with all the hills (Yes! I said hills). 50,000 acres here with miles of hiking trails, including the Florida National Scenic Trail. Holder Mine has a campground and hunt camp also. Excellent hiking trails and located just 2 miles from SR-44 in Inverness. Hiking is FREE! Highly recommended! Bring drinking water and your camera. Tons of photo ops!See more..
4.5Helen's Consignment Boutique(3 reviews) - Helen's Consignment Boutique - check it out! Speciality & Gift Shops Helen's Consignment Boutique at 105 West Main Street in downtown Inverness, FL. Owner Ann Modine and her helpful staff made shopping a pleasure. Several dressing rooms in the back. Also a three-way mirror. Small consignment shop with a high standard of what items they accept. Every item I looked at or tried on looked almost brand new! I was immediately drawn to the sale rack, where you could buy 3 items for $5.00. Several in our group could only find 1 or 2 items, so they combined their items for the discount! They also carry bridal gowns (very gently used) While we were there there was a little girl trying on a flower girl dress. Store hours Mon -Fri 9 AM - 6 PM Saturday 9 AM - 3 PM.See more..
