Wild Bill's Airboat Ride
This was my third time on Wild Bill's Airboat Ride, but the first time for my girlfriend visiting from State College, PA. She was very apprehensive about riding on an airboat. She was afraid an alligator would jump in the airboat; the airboat would flip, or she would fall in the water. She admitted she watched too many TV shows about airboats. Captain Steve was wonderful. He handled all the passengers with respect and alleviated my friend's fear of being on an airboat. One of the favorite parts of the ride was Captain Steve guiding the airboat sideways while moving the airboat forward at the same time. Captain Steve was knowledgeable about the wildlife, the surrounding area and the river. This is a must-do experience when visiting Inverness.

Great time on the water.
You need to arrive early enough to sign the disclaimer, use the restroom, walk to the dock, etc. The boat is leaving at your appointment time. The website states to arrive 30 minutes early but I wasn't paying attention and we almost missed our trip. Wild Bill's called while we were en route to make sure we would be there and called the Captain to let him know we were coming in hot. We made it and had a GREAT time. It was a sunny day so the gators were out. Captain gave us a fun ride with a little bit of speed and some zig zagging to cause some splash. You don't get too much splash if you sit toward the back.

Great time!
If you have ever wanted to do an airboat tour, this is the one to choose! Our captain, Aaron, was an excellent guide and his knowledge about the river was amazing. He was able to answer all the questions with ease and we learned so much from him. He was very nice and although he had probably answered these questions hundreds of times before, everything he said was always done with a smile and mixed in with some fun humor. He even talked about his his boys are growing up like he did and all the good memories he had as a young man himself. We really felt he treated us as a good friend and not just another customer he had to entertain. The area of the river we toured was full of life and we saw so many alligators, turtles and birds it kept all of us taking pictures during the entire trip. This tour is well worth the money spent and I would also like to encourage everyone to tip the captain. He is the one who made our trip so memorable.
