  3. 5.0 Saddle Tramps Trail Riding (102 reviews)
    - Freezing cold but fantastic!
    Equestrian Trails
    Saddle Tramps Trail Riding image
Enjoyed a one hour hack through the lovely Welsh countryside and woodland. Horses were amazing- well loved, calm and brilliant at following instructions. The stables are really in the middle of nowhere and we didn't have a clue how to find them but thanks to concise instructions from Sam we found it without any trouble. A magical place- so quiet and picturesque but boy was it cold! Sam and Tim took our group out, walking alongside the adults to give us confidence ( ridden before but still beginners) whereas my daughters ( aged 9 and 10 novices) were confident and happy to follow the lead horse. Both Sam and Tim were entertaining and knowledgeable in their conversation and it was lovely to hear about their venture and how it came about. I would highly recommend Saddletramps to anyone and I bet it is especially lovely in the summer months too when the skies are blue and you can see for miles from the top of the mountain. Thank you. The Moody Calf Play Barn image
Wow!! We have holidayed in the area for 30 years and were thrilled when we first visited the Moody Cow a couple of years back... We stayed locally again earlier this month and actually brought our 3 year old twins for 4 days on the trot to the New Play barn as they loved it so much. Fabulous equipment, tasty cakes, yummy drinks, free wifi and a great time had by all! Gutted we don't have anything this great near us! Bravo to your local artist too, he has done a wonderful job on the decor inside! See you again! See more..

  10. 4.5 Devil's Bridge Falls (1.116 reviews)
    - So many stairs - great views of the falls
    Monday: 9:00 AM - 4:45 PM Spent 1-2 hours Bridges • Waterfalls
    Devil's Bridge Falls image
The attraction consists of two circular walks. The longer of the two walks takes about 45 minutes to an hour. After seeing the famous unique 3 Bridges built one on top of the other you will walk through the woods and descend right down into the Rheidol gorge where you will have fantastic views of the 300ft Mynach waterfalls. The path is tough going and you will have to climb down Jacobs' Ladder which consists of 100 steps in one continuous flight. Don't worry there are handrails along the way. Once you have crossed over the little humped bridge at the bottom of the gorge you will need to climb back up the other side passing the Robbers' cave on the way. If this walk is too strenuous then chose the short walk which only takes 10 to 15 minutes. On this shorter walk, you will see the 3bridges built one on top of the other and the Punch Bowl where the river has created amazing pools in the rock. On both walks, there are many steep uneven steps and sensible shoes are recommended. See more..

Monday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Visitor Centers
Bwlch Nant yr Arian Forest Visitor Centre image
At just over 30 miles from our accommodation this was a “must see” attraction we didn’t want to miss. Bear in mind this place is very popular with mountain bikers but I think the trails are further away from from the visitor centre. Also popular with dog walkers but we didn’t notice any “deposits”! It’s quite a pretty place and the main attraction is the Red Kite feeding at 3pm (summer) and 2pm winter Also the cafe serves excellent food with a varied menu at reasonable prices. We were visiting this part of Wales in an electric car, so you have to plan re public charge points, but was easily done in a car with about 250 mls range. Several chargers in Aberystwyth or Machynlleth. See more..
  12. 4.5 Poppit Sands Beach (848 reviews)
    - Our favourite beach 5*, cafe has changed owners 4*
    Monday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Beaches
    Poppit Sands Beach image
Fantastic sandy beach and sand dunes. Huge when the tide is out. Dog friendly to the right and plenty of space to be able to keep your distance from other dogs if your dog is nervous. Sand dunes at the back of the beach. Plenty of car parking space, toilets, RNLI shop and also a cafe. Cafe has changed ownership since we last visited a few years ago and they no longer do the fantastic baked potatoes. New cafe is fine for coffee, cake or ice cream but not as good as the old one for lunch. We visited on a sunny Monday and they had run out of their filled rolls by 2pm , think its pre-prepared at their other venue. Polite friendly staff though. Ice-creams were huge and great selection of flavours. See more..

  17. 4.5 Tresaith Beach (285 reviews)
    - Such a beautiful place
    Beaches
    Tresaith Beach image
I was really excited to come here when I discovered there was a waterfall on the beach and my gosh it didnt disappoint. What made it even better was we had the waterfall to ourselves which we found to be really romantic and had plenty of time to take lots of photos together The waterfall is located just over the rocks from Tresaith beach itself. To get to the beach, it is a short drive down a narrow road from the main road (A487). The beachfront parking is very limited (only around 4 spaces), but there is a parking area on the right hand side when coming into the area, where you can put £2 in a trust box. The parking is sign posted, but can easily be missed if you're not looking for it. Overall such a beautiful place on a sunny day. I envy the people who live there Definitely worth a visit See more..
  18. 4.5 Ynyslas National Nature Reserve (248 reviews)
    - Wonderful scenery
    Nature & Wildlife Areas
    Ynyslas National Nature Reserve image
I have loved this area ever since I was a child. We taught our first dog to swim here because you can drive and park on the beach and it's just a small walk over to the water. We recently visited with our new puppy because we wanted to see how she reacted to the beach and water and she had a fab time, she got a dirty as possible and there was no swimming training required, she jumped straight in like a duck to water. 19. 4.5 National Library of Wales (239 reviews)

    National Library of Wales image
We really loved the library. It is set on a hill overlooking the town and the building itself is impressive. Staff are very friendly and helpful. There are some fascinating old books and the exhibition of prints was really interesting. It would be worth a visit for anyone but would be particularly emotive for Welsh people. See more..

    Aberporth Beach image
This was perfect. The Sunset was stunning, amazing place for a picnic and to build sandcastles and to swim and just dip the feet in the water. We read books and even took a nap. Parking is not close so be prepared to walk. The breeze was lovely and the sand was clean See more..

  22. 4.5 Penbryn Beach (115 reviews)
    - A Dreamy, Paradise of a Amazing Beach
    Beaches
    Penbryn Beach image
This beach is something else! A bit off the main road, it's huge and on a good day it's like a dream where you can't see the place where the sea and the sky meet. The beach is beautifully clean with enough space for families to go with children and have a wonderful day out. Be aware that the toilets are not great, there's a bit of a walk from the car park to the beach (though you can drop people off at the beach and drive back up - not a great idea given the road is narrow and people are walking up and down it) and the cafe is a little bit on the expensive side (though the staff are wonderful, cheerful and helpful). 24. 4.5 Ceredigion Coast Path (58 reviews)
    - One way walk
Spent 1-2 hours Scenic Walking Areas
    Ceredigion Coast Path image
We walked from Aberystwyth to Borth, 5 miles according to the signs but 6+ if you go from the centre of Aberystwyth to the centre of Borth. It may be a coastal path but this stretch is very hilly and there are no suitable short cuts. Over the 5 miles we climbed over 1200ft so it's a tough walk. Well worth it if you have the energy but best to be aware that there no short cut opt outs so it's all or nothing. Fantastic views over the coast and fields to those who don't mind a bit of climbing. There are hourly buses and trains running from Borth to Aberystwyth so a nice easy trip back for those staying in Aberystwyth. See more..
  25. 4.5 Cei Bach Beach (53 reviews)

    Cei Bach Beach image
Excellent clean site , seasonal campers were very friendly especially the two couple next door and opposite to pitch 17 . Beautiful views. Only thing to mention for security purposes is the gate on the park , I feel it should have a security code as anyone can enter from the beach so can’t relax if kids in park. See more..
