  9. 4.5 Four Waterfalls Walk (596 reviews)
    - You must visit all four waterfalls. Allow 4-5 hours for the hike
    Waterfalls
    Four Waterfalls Walk image
We were going to choose only the ‘best’ waterfall and we ended up spending 5 hours doing all four falls! Every waterfall is so unique at its own way and we had an amazing time (family with a 9 and 13 yrs old). Hiking boots definitely recommended as can be wet and muddy. Also recommend hiking pole for the trails as parts can be quiet steep and slippery. Prepare spare clothes in the car for kids and yourself to change. We parked at Gwaun Hepste £5 per day and headed to Sgwd yr Eira for kids to experience to walk behind the falls. Then we headed to Pannwr and then Isaf Clun Gwyn. We were so glad we didn’t miss the latter two as there are equally amazing. There wasn’t much at Clun Gwyn as we couldn’t get to the water. However, we wanted to see the fourth one to complete the challenge. Definitely recommend picnic lunch as there are perfect spots at the waterfalls. I will definitely return in the summer to have a dip in the waterfalls. See more..
  10. 4.5 Dolaucothi Gold Mines (538 reviews)
    - A fantastic experience
    Mines
    Dolaucothi Gold Mines image
We visited Dolaucothi one sunny afternoon in May, after finding it on the National Trust app. The entry process was easy, but it is highly recommended to pre-book in advance as groups are only small and they only run a limited number of tours each day they are open. The site itself is very well kept, with lots of nicely displayed information and it also included a small, well-organised museum. After we were fitted with our hardhats, we started on the tour exploring the history of gold mining in the local area. The tour was around 1 hour, and it was truly fascinating. As well as finding out all about the history of the area dating all the way back to the Romans, you were able to venture into the mine and stand where they had once mined for gold centuries ago. The tour guide was very knowledgeable, and overall, the entire experience was very good value. If you’re looking for something unusual to do over a weekend, you shouldn’t miss a trip to Dolaucothi. 14. 4.5 Pendine Sands (414 reviews)
    - Great holiday x
    Beaches
    Pendine Sands image
Really enjoyed our holiday here, was sad to come home. Childrens entertainment was excellent, Lara, Scott and Emily really went the extra mile to entertain the children. Security did an excellent job in unusual circumstances to keep everyone covid safe even when people were moaning about having to wait to get in the clubhouse when it was at capacity. Staff were very friendly, helpful and polite. The only things I can moan about is we were placed on Dukes Meadow which is right out of the way to the entertainment. WiFi and phone coverage aren't great either, but even with all that I would recommend Pendine Sands xx See more..
  15. 4.5 Cenarth Falls (336 reviews)
    - Lovely place to visit
Sunday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Waterfalls
    Cenarth Falls image
Cenarth Falls is a natural beauty spot. The falls range from quiet and peaceful when the river is low, to an impressive force of nature when the river is in full flood. It is never the same. There is a Car Park at the Falls. Parking is £3 per car for all day parking (9am - 6pm). Please be careful near the Falls themselves as the rocks are slippery and uneven, and the water is dangerous. 16. 4.5 Laugharne Castle (304 reviews)

    Laugharne Castle image
Mighty medieval castle, Tudor mansion and poet’s hideout This is the ‘brown as owls’ castle beloved of Dylan Thomas, Laugharne’s most famous resident. He wrote Portrait of the Artist as a Young Dog in the castle summerhouse perched above glorious views of the Taf estuary. Here two giant medieval stone towers stand guard over the remains of a magnificent Tudor mansion, all set in 19th century ornamental gardens. The displayed opening times are our general pattern. 17. 4.5 Millennium Coastal Park (264 reviews)
    - Lovely scenic walk
Sports Complexes • Nature & Wildlife Areas • Water Parks
    Millennium Coastal Park image
Although we have not walked the full length of the coastal path, we have enjoyed several walks around the lake. The scenery is beautiful and easy to forget that you're just a stone's throw away from Llanelli town centre. The only downside is the dog walkers who allow their dogs off leads, which in theory is fine until the dog barks and runs towards other people, as has happened to us several times. Ruins the day. Points of Interest & Landmarks
    Newton House image
Visited for a weekend day out. Great land to go for a walk. Beautiful views. Cattle and deer can be seen while walking. Very relaxing. The house has interesting history- which is presented very well throughout. The tea rooms are very nice. Get a real sense of atmosphere. There are tours on too, which are well worth attending. Lovely staff, very pleasant and helpful. Greeted by a lovely man at the front entrance booth and a lovely Lady at the entrance of the house. Great day out. Went to the Christmas market held at the house a few years ago, with the brass band and warm mince pies- that is a day that can’t be missed. Will be heading there for that again this year. I visited on a very hot summers day (last weekend) and outside Newton House they had grass games for visitors, eg Badminton and Croquet. The games were delightful!! Such a great touch! Visit regularly See more..

    - Lovely views and free entry
    Sunday: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Castles
    Llansteffan Castle image
Visited Llansteffan beach and decided to take a walk up to the castle. Parking is free at the beach and it is a fair walk uphill to the castle from there, but that suited us and there were some good views of the bay from the castle. It was around 4:30 when we arrived, but the castle was open, and there were no signs of it closing when we left at around 5pm. See more..

    - From here you can see for miles and miles
    Sunday: Castles
    Dryslwyn Castle image
This is a real chunk of history - the place was attacked and destroyed by knights of old, using a massive catapult. Look for the site where the catapult hurled cocks at the walls! You can still see where the walls crumbled. This isn’t Disney - it’s the real thing! From the old walls you can see down valley to the other castles in a great defensive line stretching miles! What a place! See more..

We watched Peter Pan by the Friedship Theatre Group. What a professional pantomime! Great dancing, singing, costumes, lighting, set and live band. Pembrey Country Park and Beach image
A wonderful experience for my disabled parents, they were able to come with us on bicycles. My Mum was sat in a chair in a Rickshaw type set up with me on a bike behind. My Dad was sat next to my husband with his feet on pedals whilst my husband did the work. They giggled all the way! Quite tiring for the person peddling but great fun and well recommended for your disabled family and friends to join in on the fun. Tomorrow we are hiring beach wheel chairs so that we can all go in the sea…… Excellent service from the very helpful staff. See more..
  27. 4.5 Carmarthenshire Museum (112 reviews)
    - A great collection of local history

    Carmarthenshire Museum image
Our exciting news is that the museum’s roof is being repaired, but we have had to close to the public for about 12 months. We would like to apologise for any disappointment which this may cause and we do look forward to welcoming you again early in 2021. The grounds remain open to the public and the Tywi Gateway Trust will continue to provide opportunities for visitors and volunteers as it restores the park and walled kitchen garden. See more..
  28. 4.5 Llyn Brianne Dam and Reservoir (100 reviews)
    - Disappointing
Spent < 1 hour Bodies of Water • Dams
Llyn Brianne Dam and Reservoir image
We visited the lake today and looked forward to a bike ride as we read on the reviews that you could ride right around. We were disappointed with the surface of the track as there were very big stones and thick ruts of mud, and we found it dangerous to ride on a normal bike ( you would at least need a mountain bike) i hit a stone and nearly came off so we turned around and came back. Also the toilet in the car park was pretty disgusting. Blocked. No toilet roll, and no soap. The scenery and views on the drive around was spectacular and we would have liked to have enjoyed a bike ride to see it See more..

    National Coracle Centre image
When my wife and I visited, we were the only visitors in the centre. We were made very welcome by Martin, who gave an inspiring introduction to coracles and their use, not only in Wales, but around the world. The items on display were fascinating and the quantity and quality of information available staggering. The Centre is well worth a visit and we would recommend it to anyone who finds themselves in the area. See more..

    - INTRO TO BURRY PORT ,Beautiful walks, especially with dogs, great cafes close by. PERFECT !
Spent More than 3 hours Beaches
    Burry Port Beach image
Best way to enjoy your visit....... Park by the hump back bridge near the railway station, (Free) and cross the road to walk towards the harbour. There are two beautiful beaches on either side of the harbour which dogs love to run on. It's a very pretty place with a good Harbour side cafe which is unfortunately closed on Mon- Weds. However, when you head back to the car park, head into the town centre and enjoy a coffee or lunch etc in the lovely Cafe called Caffi LOLFA. Dog friendly, (ours was given a sausage !!!), lovely staff so the ideal place for a coffee after a long walk. Great tasty food and reasonably priced. Burry Port are lucky to have a cafe like this one at the centre. Will definitely visit again. See more..
