   Phangan Arena is the only place in Koh Phangan where you can play football (soccer for americans), Volleyball, Tenis, Basketball or even work out in their gym. It is run by French guys who come out and play football with the guest almost every day. The football pitch is perfect for a 7-a-side games and it is the best quality. The staff is always super helpful, whether you want to drink your beer by the pool side (super cool pool) or, around the premises. Phangan Arena is located in Ban Tai, literally 4 minutes drive from Thongsala, where you arrive by boat. If you travel with friends and also want to play sports, this IS THE PLACE to be!    We did the Jungle Cooking in Jan 2020 and we can’t recommend it highly enough, it was a fantastic experience. Nin, his wife & daughter are all lovely and looked after us very well. We learnt some proper jungle recipes & cooking methods all in a beautiful setting right in the heart if the National park. And the food was absolutely delicious! One of the best meals we had in Thailand. Also recommended for young children - we took our 3yr old and she had a great time cooking, eating & singing Frozen songs with Nin’s daughter!     This was something different, great not to spend time rushing through a city. Three of us had an excellent guide - Ot - he gave us much attention, was caring and friendly. The time spent in the National park was great. We had two nights, one was in a resort in a beautiful setting on a hill. Restaurant meals here were good. Staff friendly. We took a canoe ride from this area to view wildlife .Next day we met up with our guide at the Office of Khao Sok Lake Tours. We had a rental car, so Ot came with us directing us to the pier to be transported by Longboat on the Lake to our next accommodation , bungalows set in water. You could Kayak or swim from your patio.     Although relatively small, this is one of the most beautiful temples in Suratthani province. There is a very large car park nearby which is free and a number of food and drink stalls can be found along the periphery. The interior, like so many Buddhist temples is breathtakingly beautiful. Lines of golden buddhas surround the main stupa. Many of these are very old but well preserved. Look at them carefully! We’ve visited many Buddhist temples - some more decorative and many much larger but there’s something about this particular temple that exudes calmness and peacefulness.
