   One should distinguish between the two places. Halabiyya is ancient Zenobia, founded by the ruler of Palmyra, Zenobia. The ruins however comes from later times I believe, probably late Roman ones. They consist of remains of a fort on a hill and walls going down from it in the direction of Euphrates, forming a circle. There's virtually nothing remaining within the walls, but they are quite impressive, with nice towers. I have sad memories from there, as the taxi driver named Mustafa stole my money, but well, I think it's worth a visit. There is no-one guarding the ruins, no entrance fee. The best view of Euphrates and Halabiyya is from an opposite fort of Zalabiyya, much less impressive. There is a neglected, but guarded bridge not that far away between them. To reach there, you have to get a taxi from Dayr az-Zawr or, perhaps, step out from some bus going from Dayr az-Zawr to Ar-Raqqa. See more..

   デリゾールからタクシーで行きました。一時間かかりました。遺跡の入り口まで行ってもらい、見学する間待ってもらって、そのタクシーで戻りました。他の行き方は、デリゾールからミクロバスで遺跡前まで行き、遺跡入り口まで20分歩きます。帰りは同じく幹線道路まで歩き、乗り合いバスを待つしかありません。
   遺跡は軍事都市だっただけにとても大きて、奥にはユーフラテス川が見え雄大です。ただ自分たちの他誰も観光客がいなく、閑散としていました。 See more..
